Muffler Tickets (help)

i was in a pack with 20-30 cars on our way to the runs when out of everyone i got pulled over and got 2 tickets for "unecessary noise" and "illegal muffler" or something like that (i didnt know it was illegal to modify ur muffler) thats BULLSHIT:fustrated . Anyways my muffler isnt even that loud i mean there was 30 cars screaming down the street you cant even tell what noise is coming from where...anyways im pretty sure i can win these tickets what do you guys think???

ps...there is no law stating how loud your muffler is alowed to be!

try the usual, take some DB readings of your car and compare it to some stock cars out there (ie viper, ferrari etc). i'm pretty sure your car will be quieter than those and since those cars are street legal yours should be too!

your ticket says either....unnecessary noise or improper muffler. just fight it. there are so many muffler tickets in the system now, i'm surprised judges even consider them. you're right, there is no exact reading stating that the db can't be over xxx. if i get a muffler ticket, this what i will say.....if you think mine is loud, then how come harley-davidson motorcycle owners don't get tickets???

Muffler

75. (1) Every motor vehicle or motor assisted bicycle shall be equipped with a muffler in good working order and in constant operation to prevent excessive or unusual noise and excessive smoke, and no person shall use a muffler cut-out, straight exhaust, gutted muffler, hollywood muffler, by-pass or similar device upon a motor vehicle or motor assisted bicycle

Your muffler is not gutted at all, and it's not a straight pipe. Your muffler is in good working order, show them what your car sounds like if you remove it.

Go ask the officer if he can explain what excessive/unusual noise is as well, then ask him if he knows what motorcycles sound like, and other v8 muscle cars sound like. And if you have an emmissions test, show them your car passes emmissions too with that muffler.
