Minor accident - who's at fault?
 

In my townhouse complex the driveways are all connected.

The neighbour neglected to clean her complete driveway.. I can understand this because part of the problem here is there is nowhere to put the snow (most people shovel it out onto the road and it gets plowed, or pile up a line between the cars).

So, the neighbour parked their car on an angle partly on my half of the driveway. There was a very narrow space for me to get into the driveway and I ended up kissing their back bumper with my rear quarter, scraping both.

Who is at fault here?

however best thing to do is take a picture of how she was park and show it to a cop if you want to fight it i guess

however if its a minor accident just tell your neighbour , i m sure you can both work it out. Be ready to pay some money though

If the car is parked and no one is in it and you park your car and hit there car.....ummm..it's your fault irrelavent of how many parking spots they take up ..

I don't really want to fight it, I mean, we're neighbours so we have to live with each other.. and it shouldn't cost all that much.. I'm just curious as to who's at fault.. thanks

it also depends how close you are to your neighbour.

Something like that happened to a close friend of mine , he put a little scrath on the rear bumper of his neighbours impala, however since they had a good relationship ( sometimes he would scrap the snow of his drive way and talk now and them) he told his neughbour and he was nice enough to just ask him to buy some touch up paint to cover it up

I would've ask the neigbour to move his/her car before pulling out.

You are at fault. Resolve this problem by fixing the car (if there is visible damage) and ask your neighbour nicely to park better next time.
