Licence plate covers...not permitted

Don't these fools realize why we have covered plates? To PROTECT the plates frm Rusting the hell out!!! I've seen really bad ones n can't even read them at all So why not give those idiots a ticket instead of us

meh 2 years no cover .. and still no rust ..

especially since new plates are made of galvanized alloy unlike the stamped bare steel ones of decades past...and if I had personal plates I would just get them laminated or clear vinyl covered...stock appearance but protected and nobody would ever know

I guess the cops might pull you over if you have the rear plate covered more so than if the front plate has a cover, right? I've had a cover on the front plate for years and never had a problem. In the back I don't have any cover though.
