Exclamation Lawyer needed!!! please help

hey guys well i was just wondering is anyone knows a good lawyer to handle a situation that i am having.

the situation that i am having is that monday my del sol was involved in a hit and run, after the guy hit me he came by the driver side window gave me the finger and took off when he took off i took down his plate number and reported it to the OPP since it happened on highway 406.

now i have found the suspect and the cops went to his house and hes telling them a different story like i was not driving at the time and he stopped to give me his info which if i did i wouldnt have called the opp

so my question is if anyone can please help me with any names of any good lawyers so i can make sure this guy is brought to justice thanks please help

hold on...

he says he wasn't driving at the time - but then he says he stopped to give you his info??

how could he do that if he wasn't driving??

what did the OPP say about that? - they can't give up just that easily - you shouldn't have to hire a lawyer to take care of this

further it probably won't be worth your money to hire a lawyer, paying hundreds of dollars an hour to save a few g's...

how much damage was done to your car anyways?

the car is a write off but it was still drivable

and he is saying that I was not driving at the time that my buddy was and that when he hit me he stopped to give me his info

jus a question when you hit someone do you just give them your info or you exchange info is he stopped why didnt he have any of my info?

but hes trying to say that to get out of it cause if someone else was dirivng my car then insurance wont cover but you can see it was a direct hit from behind my trunk is all pushed in the body shop 89% write off but it can be fixed and it was so hard that his licence plate was indented on my bumper.

im goin for intent to hit me since it was so direct he hit me so hard my seat belt locked and broke off the clip but thats not the case we are goin to court the cop already told us one of us is lying and he will find out who so before this goes further i want legal advice cause if this guy can talk good bullshyt then im ****ed for somethin i didnt do

and regardless of who is driving your car you insure your CAR when you pay for insurance... you don't insure just the driver... that's BS

if your insurance CO writes it off then that sucks...

http://www.kanetix.ca/what-is-no-fault-auto-insurance

for now it shouldn't matter - and then the insurance companies should duel it out and call you to court to try to assign a % or whatever...

don't worry about him talking bullshyt stick to the truth and don't try to bullshyt him back

If one car was damaged to such an extent that it was totaled, then I have to wonder why it is that police weren't called directly to the scene. That much damage would surely warrant doing so, and if I was the driver of the car in front who was rear-ended and would not ordinarily be deemed at fault, I would insist on doing so.

The story given here smells a little ripe. The real story may be much more than what is stated here, with both parties hiding something.

it wasnt damaged to an extent what happened was

he rear ended me and i went flyin into the graval and then he pulled up beside me gave me the finger and took off when he peeled out i took down his plate number i was in shock didnt know what to do so i wnet out to check it was direct rear the car was still drivable, the rear quater fenders did not get damaged at all jus the trunk got pushed in but what saved the trunk from crashin in was on a del sol they have a bar where the roof sits in my trunk and my roof wuz off at the time (in the trunk) and it took all the impact.

now i called 911 and they transfered me to opp at this time i was driving to catch the guy then instead jus stayed on the phone with opp and i told them im sorry i have to go to work i cant get fired and they told me ok when your done work go to the opp office at hurantario and qew then they told me since it happened on the 406 then to go to niagra so i did, i didnt know what to do since he drove off i wanted to catch him and beat the shyt out of him but then i couldnt cuz i wasnt gonna speed since the car wuznt totally at its best

the body shop today named it 89% write off but can still be fixed if insurance doesnt pay me what i want there i snothing to hide i jus didnt wanna type out the whole story

I suppose there was no witnesses? It will just end up being your words against his.

Just stick with your story (which is true we believe) and don't worry about what he says. If he is fabricating a lie, he will make a mistake somewhere along the line because he has to remember his lie where you just tell the truth.

Give the police all the info you can, and same with your insurance and leave it to the professionals. But glad you are fine.

i got hit on hurontario like that..had to actually chase the guy through a few red lights to get the plates...

i dont know what came of the criminal side of it but i got covered by insurance for the hit..

for one you can relax..you clearly made the call to 911 not him.. cops aint stupid..

this sounds more scandalous than lindsay lohan's life...

so tell us what really happened and why a lawyer would need to be involved in a vehicular collision...

the advice is in a hit and run, you remain on the scene and call teh cops.. then, since your car is a write off, you get it towed to the collision reporting center, get pictures taken, fill out a report, and call your insurance company with the information you have just filled out and received from the cops. then you get a cheque in the mail for the written off car. case closed.

you left the scene of the accident as well.. in the eyes of the law you are just as guilty..

but let's try to recap so far:

you are driving
someone hits you so hard from behind, that your seatbelt clip breaks
you run off the road onto gravel, with the trunk lid pushed up, lucky not be be decapitated
they stop, and give you the finger
in a totalled, yet still drivable car, you manage to chase the guy and get his plate

wow.. if i was a judge, this would sound like 2 idiots engaging in careless driving and having it get out of hand..

i feel sorry for your future lawyer

I was thinking mutually-assured destruction via mutual and consensual road rage. Why else would someone give the person they just rear-ended the finger?

If such was the case, you got to hate it when a brake-check goes bad on you.

why would an innocent victim leave the scene of an accident, and get themselves into a heavily convoluted situation where a lawyer in needed..

indeed... lots of questions to be asked...

but really ... you did post this on a car forum where people will post their opinions... and most people with a civic (which are the majority of ppl on this forum) don't have the $$ to hire a lawyer for something like this...

go to the yellow pages, or google... call 411, or call one of those traffic lawyer places and see what they say...

unless you're bringing a civil suit against this guy for the damages you're wasting your time because your insurance will handle figuring out who's fault it is blah blah blah - which is an issue that is INDEPENDENT of your car getting fixed/written off.

It may however affect your rates in the future, but then at least you've learned to never leave the scene of an accident

i might have the number of a good lawyer for you
my friend got rear ended twice, the last one was a hit and run.
well to make a long story short the lawyer basically raped the guy who hit him legally and my friend ended up getting cheque after cheque for his pains, for the times he miss work housekeeping such and such. he even got paid to show up in court to testified that it was the guy
the good part is his premiums didnt even go up
