Thumbs down Just got quoted...

So I've been looking into insurance for a 2004 Mustang Mach 1.... I'm 23, and have a speeding ticket of 75 in a 50 on May 31, 2002.

I just got quoted $660/month haha WTF is wrong with these ppl. For that monthly payment I can buy ANOTHER Mustang (prolly a Bullet or a regular GT for that price).

Most other companies failed to provide quotes... some ask for an appointment, some are not even able to provide a quote... and ones online all reject me. RBC did quote me $305/month, which is acceptable I guess. if you can call $3660/year acceptable for someone who hasn't had any claims or accidents or suspensions in the past... well since I started driving in January 1997. That's fuct!

25 and over is when you get a big insurance break... until then, don't even bother.

That's the only reason why I own a civic to tell you the truth, cheapest thing with respect to insurance.

Sell the Mustang. Get a Hyundai Accent or Kia Rio and your rates will plummet.

Ok think about the car you're looking at...
Mustangs are one of the worst for insurance.
660 per month doesn't surprise me, wait till you're older, or get married, or both lol

Let's be honest, 20 something guys in Mustangs are a horrible insurance risk. You push that car too far and the end result isn't mild understeer like with a Civic, it's tailswapping time. I know everyone will hop on and say that if you drive it properly it's fine but 80% of people can't drive worth a damn so thats what the insurance company has to assume. Anything with 8 cylinders is going to mean high insurance for those under 25. Hmmm, I wonder what I'd be quoted on a Mach 1, I might check that later. I'm 26 so it should be a little cheaper.

Join the club Bruno.

I just got quoted $7055, just liability for my Talon and $5000 for a 89 Bonneville. It sucks, looks like the only way i'll be getting around is on my bike.
