Not me, but a friend of mine is having problems renewing his insurance. He was involved in an accident and a few tickets and he just received a letter saying he can't renew his insurance for another 3 years or so.. is there anything he can do?

Anyone with additional info would be of great help.

Based on his record that you gave, I would assume he has now been put in the high risk pool. There are only a few companies in the high risk pool and they all charge about the same which is not cheap by any means. The law in Ontario states that there has to be insurance available to everyone regardless of their driving record. I think the company that your friend is currently with will no longer cover him, so he will have to look for a new company (likely in the high risk pool of companies).

Its called Facility, and yes, he will have to contact his broker and ask them to place him with another carrier who insurers high risk drivers ..... in other words, bend over
