Insurance question....and cops...lol

alright, heres my situation and I am wondering what would happen in the case that i was pulled over..

I am driving my dads volvo, he has insurance on the car, but i do not. I am currently not insured under any of our cars at the moment but in the case that I do take the car out onto the road (which i don't want to but i might have to drive my grandpa to the hospital tomorrow) and i do get pulled over, what would happen to me? Like the car is insured under someone right so its not just a car on the road without any insurance, but does that really matter?
i just wanna know whats the worst that could happen to me?

Nothing can happen to you and you'll be just fine if you get pulled over, as long as you have the insurance card with you and the ownership your set, just explain to him you have to drive him to the hospital and matter a fact doesin't matter where you take the car, they can't do nothing, just have those 2 things with you at all times and your good

your fine 100%

REALLY!!....but if nothing can happen to me whats the point in having my own insurance anyways? just in case of an accident? like i have a G liscense to its not like a G1 where u don't have to worry about anything...but ur saying that as long as SOMEONE is insured under the car and I have a valid liscense i'll be fine?

Not true I just wrote off my girlfriends car when a stupid chick made a left hand turn infront of me. The insurance company cut her a cheque the next day and off we went to buy another civic.

as long as the owner (person insured) gave u permission to use the car, ur safe.

EXCEPT if the insurance company has EXCLUDED YOU from the policy.

Eman is correct.

if you get into an accident, it goes on your dad's record.

i was excluded from my parents' insured because i told the insurance guy he was garbage years ago.

i put him into place later on when i started working.

no, years ago, i got my first car and the guy wanted $3000/year.. he refused to switch my dad and i around as first driver on the two cars etc... "no difference" (a minivan vs 240sx)...

i got some other quotes... i got 2 that were $1000 cheaper.... same coverage.. he suggested i go with them then .. i did... BUT because my parents and I live in the same house and were with different insurance companies, he had me excluded from my parents' cars (i was insured under them before)

when i got my civic, my dad wanted me on the same insurance... this guy told me to go back to wherever i was before... i offended him or something...

i told him to fxck himself... my parents have been with him over 25 years.. and the company my mom manages is all insured under him.. we were going to be togehter.. with him or not.

my dad backed me up.

suddenly his offer was half the price he had previously given me.

i even went to his office and picked up my insurance slip personally. haha

now i pay $1500 1st driver on my 98si. no collision. my record is more or less clean.

exactly, some people have insurance policies with no driver under 25 years old clause...in that case if you drive a car with a clause like that...= no coverage in case of accident if your under 25 so just watch for that

Yeah that's how my mom's policy is no unmarried male/female under the age of 18 or 25.. what does marriage have to do with anything? i might as well get married to my girlfriend to save on insurance... hey even if we do break up, the divorce will be cheaper then insurance lol

if you're married, you likely aren't as crazy as a young male.

i know when I'm without my woman, I can do some pretty odd things... when she's around.. I tend to behave a little more.

I can't exactly stand on a McDonalds tray, hold onto a car and have my friend drive me around so that I can 'tray surf' while my girlfriend sits in the car wondering what the hell she's doing with me..

That's right. It is the car that has insurance, the drive does not. We are all paying money to insure the car, not us.

That's when Life Insurance kicks in.
