insurance question

hey my friend recently got a ticket for not having an insurance card, not having the proper registerd plates on car, (long story)

anyways he was wondering if he has to tell his insurance company of these convictions and if they should be listed as minor or major convictions.
he is switching his insurance company thats why i am asking.

if you having any suggestions let me no

he doesnt have to tell them, they find out on there own.

They will most likely ask you if you have had any tickets or conviction in the last 3-5 years. Best bet is to tell them. If they find out you were not truthful with them, they will cancel your policy and it will be 10 times harder to get insurance.

Did you fight your tickets?

from his original post.... it seems he already had insurance... but at the time he was switching over. You only have to tell them when you first sign with them and they also wont see the ones in progress from what my company told me.
No dont tell them... they will find out on their own.

You'd be stupid to tell them, but its your choice ...

I took it as he is currently trying to switch over, in that case they would probably ask.

that happened to me twice i wouldn't tell them cause it's not like he got points for that conviction it's really minor i wouldn't tell them

If you currently HAVE insurance, they'll find out come renewal time. If you are LOOKING for insurance and you fail to disclose this, when they DO find out, your policy *could* be cancelled. And as previously mentionned, it will be VERY tough to find insurance that you can afford!
