You may have to get a special insurance in which your car is appraised in order to have the policy cover all mods. A friend of mine had his M3 appraised and now his policy covers all of his mods (ie. stereo, suspension mods, etc.). A professional appraiser came out and appraised his car. Not sure what company he is with (I know his broker took care of this), but you could check with your broker (if you have one) about this kind of coverage.

Chubb Insurance .... Head office is accross from the airport .... they insure High priced vehicles and modified vehicles ... for the right price ..... in other words, fork over what the car is worth in premium

The cheapest insurance company will not insure your vehicle if its heavily modified ..... But right now, the companies with the lowest premiums are Pilot, Axa and probably State Farm

Well, I wouldn't say all companies ..... Not many people know this but most companies don't make any money on auto insurance in Ontario....... So their not really in it to make a buck, but because Legislation in Ontario makes Auto Insurance mandatory ... the only companies that make any money on auto are small farm mutual companies who's yearly net profit is usually between $1-$3 million at most .....

I'm going to have to disagree and say that I love that I'm with State Farm and even if I were to get into an accident, I know that they will not likely cover the damages of my civic.

I called around and the cheapest qoute I got is $160/month more then what I pay now.

I'm happy with my agent!

Not really, my buddy doesn't pay an outrageous amount for his appraised M3. Sure he pays more than if he drove a stock M3, but his monthly premium is around $250 I believe which seems pretty reasonable considering his age, the fact that the car was appraised at over $50,000, and his non-perfect driving record.

Not sure of the the company name, but that $250 a month is only for the months the car is on road (April 1st to November 30th). He is also 28 years old.
