Insurance company inspection

hey everyone, I was just curious if any of u have had to take your car in for an insurance inpection to make sure youre car isnt modified. I was just wondering what they look for exactly... I am gonna take out my racing seats and replace with stock, change my cf hood to stock, take off my lip, put on steelies and maybe change my exhaust too, im wondering if I should take out my system too and my suspension as my car is lowered on H&R sports (not that noticeable a drop)

if you take anything out then put it back you will violate your insurance agreement and you could be booted from insurance the racing seats take out and the hood everything else leave it.

also god forbid you get in a serious accident and alot of damage is done. If the see the modifications they wont cover you for that accident, so if you do like 50,000 in damage you would have to pay for it, so Id say just leave it on.

What company are you with, I had to do something similair. If you have ANY mods you better get rid of them, insurance companies, ie crooks, in Ontario dont tolerate any modifications anymore. When they see the suspension you will be dropped, take off everything that you possibly can, and to what climax was talking about above, its irrelevant, they wont cover you if they find out now or after you have an accident. Either way your screwed. Pu as much back to stock and hope they dont notice anything else

Just to let you know also, when you have a cancellation against your name, most insurance companies wont even consider covering you, the ones that will are going to want ridiculous amounts of money. Insurance companies up here are the scum of the earth as far as im concerned, they legally rob people

i know my insurance company will do inspection for any cars that only has 10 or less years of age.... so my 96 has to be schedule for an inspection... however, my insurance company also told me the inspection is simply to aid them evaluate my insurance rate... they said if i don't put any system or mods in the car, the rate will be lower, but then anything they don't see in the pics taken during the inspection and anything not listed on the inspection write up, they won't pay me back for those damages.... however, they do not kick people out for modifications...

I thought you were allowed up to a certain dollar amount for the stereo system?

I think I better check with my insurance company about the sound system for my car.

you better check... yes, its upto a certain amount, but they prefer the stock equipped stereo system... not some aftermarket trendy audio stuff.... that's my what insurance company said.... so you better check it with your agent....

you've got pm...

and you know what was funny about my last ride... i had a 92 si hatch... and on the insurance paper, it says "1992 Honda Civic 3DR Si/Si-R".... then i was like confused, so i call in... and they said, "oh... the rate you're paying is the highest rate for your model... doesn't matter you're driving a Si or sir, you're paying that rate"... then i'm like "cool thanks bye" hahaha.... so i was like if i throw in an sir motor... i'm still insured... (atleast i suppose)
