I was with RBC when I was a little younger, they had good rates for young drivers. Then they upped my rate by 20% and had no explanation for it, so now my insurance company is Meloche Monnex. Their rate was slightly worse than my original rate with RBC until I turned 25. You have to be a part of a group to go to MM. If you're an engineer or a U of T student/grad then you're in, not sure about any other groups.

Hey guys.. thanks everyone for thier input.. after all that shopping around.. which didn't turn out as good as i expected.. it was finally up to my parents to solve everything.. they took the liberty of actually going up to their insurance broker and settled it in person!! When they actually finished dealing with him, i get a phone call telling me that they got insurance for my car.. and it wasn't that much more expensive. i was so happy.. =) parents get you out of any jam don't you think? haha.. i sound like a mommas boy right about now.. but it's cool. love them non the less. and by the way i am paying 3100 for my 99 Si. and i am 23.. but whats still messed up is that i am still the secondary driver!! oh thats 3100 for both my mom and I.. but thats just a little update for all you who were curious about my situation.. thanks again everyone for your input..

You guys might want to check out TD, and President Choice.

I guess the best recommendation is to try to get a group rate. If you are a university grad, you can get from Td and colleges get from Johnson Insurance.

I am paying $2300 for 99si coupe first time insured with g license and I am the primary driver.

Good luck shopping around in this ****ty insurance market.

I get group insurance through my work...saved me about $1500/year. :D
