Gallagher 10-Oct-2007 01:19 PM

Here's my situation. Been married for 3 years and paying 200/month for 2 EMs with full coverage. But before we got married, I was paying 190/month and the then gf was paying 180/month for the same cars but with different companies. So, to add it up, we're saving 170/month. So, to answer your question, I guess it does.

Shazza, also look into the age thing too. We were both over the age of 25 when we were paying for ins before and after we got married.

Don't forget in the GTA also.

When I had my 2000 SiR I was paying $225/m full coverage. I moved to a small **** ass town (Petawawa) my insurance went down to $120/m then to $80/m full coverage.

Now I pay $75/m for a 2005 Toyota Minivan (LE) and $100 for a 2005 Honda Civic Si 4dr auto.

Age 30 one ticket, and one claim at fault accident (friggin black ice rip SiR :( )

Also shop around too, you don't have to stick with your old one(s). Not all ins co will give you the same rate. We got estimates between 200-400/month. And don't lie about traffic violations...they'll find it. :spy:

Shazza 12-Oct-2007 04:43 PM

oh, i'm not shopping around. we're pretty much set with meloche...they've always given the two of us (separately) the best rates. i'm glad i dont have to switch ins co once we get married since we're both already with them. i was just curious if marital status made a diff.
