What does it matter if i can shake hands with an agent? I have been with RBC for a few years, and i have never had to ever meet with anyone. Everything is done over the phone without any hassles! Im with belair and zero problems!

Bun state farm! They tried to really **** my dad when i got my G1, they wanted like $1500 extra a year!!!! We switched companies and only went up $500.

AND I don't care anymore lol

I don't want to try and convince people why state farm is a good insurance company to go with. Its personalized service, some people care about that some people don't. It is more expensive, some people are willing to pay more for the service you recieve some people aren't.

Anywhos.... I have an interview with allstate anyways, so soon I will try to convince everyone why they should be with them

I've been with State Farm since I started driving. I'm paying $110/month on my car. Mind you, I'm an old bastard too.

But I've had no problems with them, however they are very strict when it comes to adding modifications to your car.

i know its not that bad... i would just prefer to pay less thats all

what do you mean no tickets they know about? you are aware they check your record right? If they don't know about them, they will once your renewal hits, so your probably going to be paying more

I don't believe that lowering your car will effect your insurance. I've never gone through an insurance company that could tell that my car was lowered (including SF). The only thing they have ever asked about was the muffler, i told them it was for show.

With my previous car, State Farm found out it was turbocharged (along with other numerous mods) and instead of them just cancelling my insurance outright, they gave me 14 days to bring my car back to stock form.

My insurance did not go up, so I was greatful for that. I did ask them about my coilovers, and they advised me that it was fine, as long as my tires is not hitting the fenders. That shocked me.

State Farm is annoying when it comes to mods. I just called my underwritter, so BASICALLY when it comes to mods, it just depends what underwritter is looking over the policy.

A performance exhaust is "okay", and intake is a "maybe" and lowered is usually "okay" as long as it's only an inch. Once you start to have more then one of those mods they won't accept you. My agent lied to meeeeeeee! I'm happy now! I've got an intake but whatever, I'm going to drop it soontime!

I'm fortunate that my broker was able to find a good price for me, but with a different insurer. However, I used to be with State Farm and didn't have any problems...always helpful when needed.

im paying $200/month, i THINK liability only for the civ.
Male 22, and i live in scar/markham.
Perfect driving record.
Primary driver on a 2 door 2000 Si.
Secondary on a TL, and an Odyssy.

Not TOO bad considering my "risk level".

BTW, has anybody ever heard of insurance companies sending PI's (private investigators) to "monitor" you/your car? My friend said he saw some dude who looked like a PI following him around for a week, then right after the insurance company called him about him driving his car n etc. He works for a lawfirm, so i guess he's been around enough PI's prior to tell (i dunno).

K, honestly I'm like not gonna spend all my time defending State Farm. Because it doesn't matter what it is, everyone always has their own opinion on everything. There's a whole boat load of people out there that think that Honda's are crap.

The only thing is this, things like "State Farm tried to really **** my dad when i got my G1," like ok honestly, to State Farm in their experience with hundreds of thousands of policies, they view your specific household situation as costing that much. Do you really think that out of the billions of dollars of premium they take in per month, your $500 is actually gonna make a difference? If you feel that it's too expensive then change companies.

But there are a large # of people out there that are more than willing to pay extra for better service. If all your about is price, then yeah there's lots of companies out there that could be cheaper. But if all you care about is price then why drive a Honda? you could buy a Hyundai or a Daewoo

As well, the general public has no idea how much money insurance companies actually pay out in a year. Why do you think that every insurance company had a hike in premiums this february? because they are paying out more then they are taking in on premiums, it's a fact, and I know everyone's gonna hoot an holler and say that's just crap, but it's a fact.
