If the ticket was issued in toronto then just take it to court. It will probably take a year for you to get a court date so you can save some time. Once you get your appoinment you could bring a picture and get the ticket reduced. Or you could bring a video and prove that your muffler is not too loud.
I was in court 2 weeks ago , i got a ticket for having a cover in my plate , i brought pics and the lady just said your ticked is dismissed, i literally stayed 5 minutes in the court room and i didnt have to pay a cent ....
I m still waiting for a court date for a parking ticket in toronto , its been 2 years and i still dont get a court date

last week i just fought the same ticket, my girlfriend has a 95 coupe and it had a canadian tire reactive muffler on it. cop told me the same thing it was too big, i went into court and told them that ive never had a complaint or ticket for this and that the exhaust is proper there arent any holes or anything just a different muffler. they tossed it for me, nothing in the law says how big or loud your muffler can be just as long as everything is proper, so just go fight it, and it'll most likely get tossed

There is actually. IIRC it cannot be louder than 95dB. But besides the point, no cop actually measures that.
Go to court and it will get thrown out.
What exactly does the ticket say
And ffs its not Fast and Furious days no more, get rid of the rice cans.

I got the same ticket first day driving the used car I bought, I explained to the young ***** that I just put the temp plate on the car that day and that I was going to change the muffler on the weekend and he still gave me a ticket. I had not even been able to get the car to the garage yet. I mean what the hell is the point of getting a temp plate if they are not giving you any time to get the car fixed. I swear society is getting dumber by the day, and I don't know what they teach these kids but to me that was some poor judgement on his part, clearly he could tell on the computer I just put the temp plate on. I should have asked to speak to the adult in the cop car as he was with another cop. Well I am fighting this and bringing the reciepts to show I changed the muffler. Peel cops have not changed still same corrupt P.O.S!!!!! See ya in court ****!

Anyways, I got the exact same ticket. Fight the ticket. Get your mechanic to give you a receipt showing he "changed" the exhaust, it will get thrown out.
good luck.
