if you gut out a cat i'm sure you won't pass your emissions so that would be illegal... but i think high-flow cats will still have you pass, just make sure where ever you go to get it done is a reputable place and that they tell you that it is emissions approved or whatever, but as far as i know high flow cats are all good

if you gut out the cat you'll be failing emissions and if popo pulls you over that'll be another thing you'd get a ticket for

See if your high flow CAT is CARB exempt...

If so it should pass emissions...

If you gut out your stock cat, you will likely fail emissions testing. As long as the high flow cat is emissions legal, you should pass emission testing no problem, I did with my old Civic.

but you HAVE to take other peoples saftey into consideration when doing any mods to your car
Please think of the senoirs walking on the streets as you past by. Not everyone has a very well developed respiratory system. By installing a high-flow catalytic converter your vehicle will do minimal to convert the pollutants produced into safer molecules.

Hi-Flow Catalytic Converters still do their job but at minimal.

Not necessarily true. Most decent ones still provide the same or almost the same emissions levels as stock, they just have better exhaust flow characteristics.

no they do just as good a job as normal catalytic converters, but they cost more, just like an aftermarket exhaust, just cuz it's high flow doesn't mean that the exhaust doesn't work, the emissions standards are pretty high and i'd bet that stock cars don't come with cats that go far above emissions standards....

Gut it!

Just buy one from the wreckers, gut it, install it, then, when it comes time that you ever need to get e-tested, put your old one back on.

simple enough

All this hassle to gain 1 whp if you are lucky. IMO, not worth the trouble.
