I Need My Liscence Back!!!!

I'll make a long story short....

This weekend i was pulled over at the races and given a serious warning by a officer of the law not to ever show my face around those kind of illegal activities again, and was thretend by severe punishment b/c of my records and etc etc....so i left the first spot and headed over to another area for the race thatwere about to happen. I pull in with 3 other cars, and as we are pulling in this cop car comes out of no where and blocks us all, so we're like okay wuteva, we weren't doing ****, he cant do nothing. So i see the fficer of the law come out f the cruiser and my luck its the same dude who booked and thretend me the first time that night. At this point i'm expecting to get areested, but wut he does is he takes away my liscence and registration and drives off. So now i'm left without a liscence and registration. i went to the station on keele and rutherford and they toled me that he would get in contact with me. Now i need to know how i can et my shi* back from him???????

Why on earth would you continue going to the races after the cop was cool enough to give you a warning... I'm not trying to be a dick but I have absolutely no sympathy for you because you acted like a punk kid. I hope nothing bad happens to you but maybe you should use this as a wakeup call.

I would have to agree with this. Just wondering if you are going to keep going to the races after this?

I tend to agree with Happy...

Had I been the OIC at that site I would have done the same thing...

The cop let you off with a warning the first time, when he could have waited around and charged all three of you (since you guys never saw him) with about 4 different charges.

I think it went down exactly like HappyB16 said..

You acted like a kid and had no respect for the warning you were given, nor the officer who was giving it to you.

I think you are lucky to have just your license and registration gone, had that been me in uniform I would have impounded your vehicle "for later inspection" which was well within his rights, especially since the officer warned you earlier in the night and you continued to loiter.

Regards,
OK

*sighs* you KNOW this is gonna be a lashing right?!

You made a formal complaint for something that was clearly your FUBAR and the Staff SGT said the Officer had nothing to book you for?

So you had the officers badge #, date, time of day etc?

Did you mention in this "formal complaint" that you were warned about street racing by said officer? and then went to another location for the very same purpose? That you and 3 other vehicles pulled in at the same time in a rather suspicious manner? Perhaps you were congregating on Private Property (ie: a plaza) which whether you are street racing or picking your nose, you have no right to do without invitation and permission. Perhaps there was a suspected drug deal and your vehicles matched what came from dispatch.

Anyways, my point is that your type make me laugh..

You mess up a few times, get yourself "records and etc etc", head out at night with the intent of screwing up again and when you get pulled over and get your toes stepped on you complain about "the establishment".

All the folks that do this type of crap and then cry about it need to climb back on the little yellow short bus, with the tinted windows, and keep on keepin on cause your kind will kill the "import scene" rather quickly.

Harsh words? Hell yes. Deserved? Maybe, maybe not.

No sympathy from me.

Regards,
OK

I'll have to agree with that. Like seriously, the more you guys race on the streets, the more problem it causes. Not only are you breaking the law, you endangering your own life and the lives of other innoccent ppl. No wonder my insurance is so high, a portion of it is thanks to these so called 'cool' guys who race, get into accidents, and cause insurance to increase premiums for everyone. :fustrated It's simple, if you really want to race, go to a TRACK!!

Just my 0.02 cents.

Well the problem here is that we seem to have two diffrenent issues.

1) Street Racing or being actively involved in the scene.
2) Being actively involved in the scene and complaining when getting caught.

I think 1) is something completely different than what we are concerned with here. One's choice to partake in these events is completely the choice of that person. Assuming they are a mature adult and are of sound mind they understand all the factors involved. They understand the thrill of the race and have weighed that against the possibility of being causght and the fallout of being caught.

Now, my problem with this is 2). I am very upset to think that Civic-GQ thinks he has experienced some injustice because the officer took his licence and registration. To think that the officer had NO reason to do this to you only shows your lack of respect for the system and the officer. You don't seem to understand that this is not like disobeying your Mom or Dad... cops have complete control and have the power to screw you in more ways than you can imagine.

Also, what really frustrates me is that you had initally posted this thread in the hopes to rally others to join your 'fight'. You probably expected a whole whack of "You the man" and "******' pigs" and all that shiet. This just proves to me that you still have no respect for what happened and will more than likely do it again....and again. I am very happy however to see that instead of getting a bunch of emails that supported your thread, you got some opposition. You my friend are a dying bread. It is apperent to me, escpecially in TCC, that the street racer is no longer the 'cool guy'. The street racer is no better than the guy that jacks peoples cars, the guy that steals rims or the guy that keys cars... the street racer is just another punk kid that does more to harm the import scene than he does to embrace it.

Civic_GQ - I don't know you. I have nothing personal against you. I simply write my comments to try an impress upon you that you need to take this unpleasant event and turn it into a positive. You need to accept you WERE in fact 'up to no good' and whatever you get, you deserve...peace.

Sorry for the rant guys...

It is people that street race or support street racing (ie. watching) that give the rest of us that drive modified cars a bad name. This type of behaviour gives the police and society in general an overall negative view of those that modify their cars and we are all viewed a being street racers.

Thus, once again, you will get no sympathy from me.

WOW, okay guyz take a chil pill here, fist off lets get something straight, i was never racing and will never street race, its the dumbest thing neone can ever do in my opinion no matter the freakin title i.e. "COOL" plp give you. Second of all I have no problems with all this badging, i've alwayz said it and will say it again, TO EACH THEIR OWN, you guyz are much more mature and older than i am so your probably right so i'll take the badging as advice in a wierd way, but its all good, it was a dumb move to go back the second time around. I know the cops have the power to do it all, I just some times do not appreciate the fact that they sorta take matters into their own hands. (i.e. drive off with my liscense). If the cop worked it out by the book, and it was written in black and white it would be a diff story. As for his Supervisor at the station, he knows the whole story, he toled me the procedures the officer was to take, and let me tell you it would have been much uglier than just driving off with my license. Lesson learned, it doesnt mean i'm not gona drive out there again, its a hobby for me (TO EACH THEIR OWN), and for many many many others from this club, i'm sorry if you think i give you guyz a bad name by doing it, but i'm just a needle in a hay stack. Never meant to offend neone here by badging the cops, i dont even know if i did but ...........

well consider yourself lucky i guess.

glad that you know what you did wasnt the smartest thing to do though

i guess the cop wanted to give you a break and not arrest you but he didnt want to let you go again with just a warning since he did that already and obviously it didnt work. so i guess the only thing left for him was to just take off with your license thinking that it'll hopefully teach you a lesson for next time. but u've already said that you're going to keep going back and you're right, to each his own. but remember the reason people street race at those big gatherings is because of the audience. if absolutely no one went to watch these things then no one would be racing like that. i'm talking about street racing gatherings, not just 1on1 stoplight drags.

so how long did it take for you to get your license back anyway?

btw, i dont think you're giving us a bad name. unless of course you're going around telling officers that "torontocivics ownz you"...haha
