I don't even see the scratches in the pics...lol.

His bumper is fine. Maybe offer him a bit of cash and call it a day?

If he's beefing that much over it, he's just being an ***. Though it's hard to see the damag in those pics.

I looks like stone chips , maybe 3 of those. Very hard to see even in person. But he says its a lease so he wants it repainted.

I called the dealer they want 650 to repaint the damn bumper. I call my own shop and since he knows me he said 200$.

I m having the worse day

guy called me today , he said about 500-600 to get it repainted. It sucks , but unfortunately i hit him from behind so there isnt much i can do .

Damage is little , however the only way to fix it right is to have the bumper repainted.

He will still call me next week with the final amount. Anything i can do ??? .. I really dont want to go through insurance but i called a few shops around and they all told me 500 to have the bumper repainted, Its a damn subaru so i knew it will be around there

My bodyshop will do it for 200 , already called them, however as i suspected it , the guy wants to take it to someone he trust.

Is there is anything input here, please advice.

Sadly no. You're going to have to accept it and move on. However try to get info on his health, write stuff down etc, so that he doesn't try to scam you on his neck, sounds like he isn't hurt, but you never know...

so far he is cool. He said that he rear ended someone before and that he knows how fk up insurance is.

I dont think anything is wrong with his health. Look at the damage, not even a dent in his rear bumper. And my front bumper does not even have a scratch on.

You'll just have to pay him for the damage unfortunately... Not much else you can do. Try not to go through insurance. Don't even tell them.

I hit a young lady couple of years ago in her new 05 civic. I left a little scratch and scuffs but had 2 holes from the license plates. I was at fault so i gave her the option of what she wanted to do, so it went to Dalts Honda and bill came out to over $650.

i'd tell him that if he wants to go to a bodyshop of his choice that you'll have to go through your insurance, this way you're protected too, he could just be telling you its $500-600 and he's pocketing cash b/c you know what it really costs to get a job like that done at a bodyshop YOU trust.

A lot of insurance companies have accident forgiveness, meaning, that if you don't have any other claims you're first at-fault accident/claim doesn't effect you're insurance at all.

Unless you have a $1000+ deductible or something you're gunna be paying $500 out of you're pocket anyways.

Hell, the insurance thing is more of a bluff anyways, it'll take longer to get done and be more of a hassle for him compared to you just paying a bodyshop cash.

If that doesn't work, try negotiating with the guy. If he wants $600 and you're guy will do it for $200, see if he'll meet you halfway at $400 or so.

Its worth a shot and you definately have options here

thank for the advice

We settle for 600$ , i called the dealer and they want 700 $ to fix it .... i m getting some money i wasnt expecting so that will pay for the accident. it sucks , but its my dads insurance so i dont want to mess around with it...

He is going to sing a waiver (thing) saying that there will be no more $$ pay to him and that 600 will cover all the repairs to the vehicle, i m also bringin a tape recorded. Plus he already agree to my terms by email. I just dont want this guy asking for more money.

Delaer said 700$ and he wants 600 so thats all he is getting.

I'm sorry guys, but this is another reason why Ontario should ditch these stupid front plates. They are absolutely hideous and utterly useless. Had Rick's car not have had a front plate on his car, the Legacy would not have those two bolt brandings on his rear bumper. Less damaged would've occured and nobody would be crying.

Provinces/Territories that ONLY require a REAR MOUNTED PLATED:
Alberta, Quebec, Newfoundland and Labrador, Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia, Nunavut, Prince Edward Island, Saskatchewan & Yukon
