I Hate My Insurance Co.

So i just got home and checked my voicemail to find out that my insurance has been cancelled because i have a fukin INTAKE! Some clown came and took pics of the car a month and a half ago and now this! I did agree that my car didnt have n e mods. But an intake, Please...give me a break

This is b.s. DONT DEAL WITH POWELL INSURANCE BROKERS . they are ****** i pay a premium for my policy and when i call them and let them know i want to discuss my policy and speak to a lic. broker they treat me like i am just calling for a quote. Somtimes they dont call back for 1 or 2 days! I am taking my buisness elsewhere...

Definatly don't do business there if thats how you get treated. Try Belair Direct, I have had a good result with them, as well as State Farm. I do urge you to stay away from RBC, because from my personal experience they can be a hassle.

Maybe, but it sure doesn't sound like you're doing it by choice.

Anyways, you've now been cancelled by one insurance company for misrepresentation. Most insurance company applications will ask if you have ever been denied coverage or cancelled in past.

Answering "yes" to that question will flag you as high risk to them.

Answering "no" to that question, only to have the insurance company find out later that you lied, will result in them either dramatically hiking your rates, or worse, cancelling your policy which will put you right back where you are now except now you will have been cancelled for misrepresentation by TWO insurance companies. Good luck in finding a third company willing to cover you if that should happen.

I am with Bel air and was previously with economical. Economical treated me pretty good because they gave me good value when I got hit by a driver with no insurance and my car was written off.

Only problem is they dont allow buy back.

The inspection with belair is nothing to be scared of...they didnt even pop my hood. All they did was take a pic of the odomiter reading and 2 other exterior shots to show the condition of the car.

Pilot did the same when I was with them as did AXA. Most of the pics were so that they had reference for any "scams" if I were to try to go that route, which is understandlable, but I did pay a premium because of them which was $20-25.

The way I see it is:

You can choose to tell them about the stuff, have the security of it being insured, but pay more for this security.

or...

You can not mention any of it, pay less, and not be able to claim any of it if it gets stolen or smashed in an accident.

Yeah, we're with them for about 3 years. Ins. for professionals!! Lol. Our ins. went from around 4g/yr with another company to 2g/yr for 2 EMs with full coverage.

hdave, that depends on your age as well. I know it's like kind of discrimination, but when ins company asked you what you drive and your age, they might go further into giving you a new policy regarding your car like mods and what not...
Correct me if I'm wrong.
