i was at wasaga this weekend and i got pulled over by emission control...i didnt have my cat converter, and got a $380 ticket... i have to go to court in barrie in 2 months...what can i do/say to lower this ticket...cuz i can't affor this ****...??

put in a high flow cat if u wish (130-200 installed)
get a dated receipt of the purchase/install, and take that to court.

tell them that the cat rusted off and you didnt have money at the time, and just installed a brand new one. ( show them the receipts )

thanx for the advice, where would i be able to get a high flow cat for that money in the mississauga area?

any mechanic shop should get you a cat installed for that price
call Zorro Muffler, Midas, Meineke (these 3 are negotiable if you haggle with them ) or any of those gas station mechanics....

the mechanic i used to go to relocated somewhere in orangeville, and lost touch with him since the move
i got mine installed, a generic hi-flow cat for cost (100) as i was doing other exhaust work with him

buddy i live in sauga to and got the same ticket but mine was for the dumbest thing i didnt have a hose hooked up to something and the *** cop still gave me a ticket he didnt know what it did or where it went he just gave me a ticket.I have to go to barrie as well

the hose you didn't have hooked up is probably for the valve cover to the intake .... let me guess you have a mini air filter there?

the reason the hose is there is to suck air out of the valve cover (and oil and gas fumes) and properly cycle them through the engine so as not to effect the environment as much.

no some other hose the little container beside the fuel filter one small tiny hose was not pluged in
