I even get ticket's..........

Got a ticket yesterday.....Tinted wndows....Cop was cool though. Spent a good 1/2 hour with him. He made some comments about the "nipple light's", I told him they were white, not blue. He said blue were ok, as long as they were not flashiong. (I knew this.....acted humble)....(He left those alone).
Then wanted to see the back Alteza's....Told him they were DOT. I showed him the #'s molded on the tails.(left that alone too).
Asked if the car was lowered. Told him that the car was like that when I got it last year. Poor excuse.....(but left that alone too).
Then he saw the muffler tip. Said that "resonator's are a no-no.
Told him that it was just a tip and not a whole muffler. He looked under and saw that I was telling the truth.(Left that alone as well).
Front corners....same info as "nipple lights".
Now for the tint's.....
I asked about the "48 hour thing", said that was back in the mid 90's, but did say that if they were removed by the day I went to
court (that's if I ask for a court date; which I will), he would come out to take a look. If it was removed, he would explain to the court that it was ok.......and it would probably be thrown out. (front side windows can't be covered).
At no time did I get mad or upset....he was just doing his job.(he had nailed 3 other people before me in the last 2 hours for the same thing. I saw the ticket's myself).
I guess I'll just have to drive with the front window's open. (thank God my car has good heating). I like my tint's.....but if I do start getting pulled over for it......maybe.......
He did find my plate funny.....that might of helped too.
Never get anoid when you get pulled over.......be nice and polite.....the officer remembers everything when you go to court. Be a *****, you'll get nailed!
By the way, he said that I was speeding, and that he had to really speed up to catch up to me.....(I don't belive I was. I went down the road not even 10 min. before, and saw him there with another car.) It would have been really stupid on my part to do that. I think he used that as an excuse to pull me over in the first place. But that's ok.(let me go on that one too)
Must have been my nice shiney wax job on the car.

Not all cops are ********.
But when you were asked about your corners, I'm assuming that they're blue too since he did ask. Wouldn't he know that they flash when you're signalling?
How dark were your tints for you to get a ticket?

That excuse about how you were speeding and that he had to speed up to catch you is BS. Of course he had to speed up to catch you. You had already passed him or he was going the pother way. DUH!!! No matter what the situation is/was the persuer ALWAYS has to speed up to catch someone. Even if the person being chased is not speeding.

Corners,,,,,,They are clear.... the Crystal wite bulbs look blue, but when they are on, they are white and not blue......showed him that.
Tints.....Drivers, 35%...........Sides and back, Limo/5%.
In the HTA it states.....73. 3.
(3) "No person shall drive on a highway a motor vehicle on which the surface of the windshield or of any window to the direct left or right of the driver's seat has been coated with any coloured spray or other coloured or reflective material that substantially obscures the interior of the motor vehicle when viewed from outside the motor vehicle."
I have a dark blue interior, and I had a black sweater on..... put 2 and 2 together....Oh well........a trip to court in the future.
The word "substantially" in that section, is up to the officer. In the day, it's not that bad, but at night....that's a different story.
Can you guess what I saw on the way home right after that? Yep, a car with "mirrored" tint. I couldn't even SEE though that one! oh well.......

I know that.....I saw him when I retuned to the store that I was at just minutes before.......He was making a left into a parking lot, to get set up again, when I passed him.
I just tried to be nice to him...
Like I said.......be a *****.....you get nailed.
If he wanted to, I could have left the scene with a bunch of ticket's, but I didn't. And the one ticket I did get, he was cool about it.......no harm done. I just hope that the court date will be on one of my day's off from work.:working:

i agree. it's too bad about the ticket but people really need to be nice to cops. if you're a dick then the cop will be a dick too and it'll only cause you more trouble. even if you dont agree with the ticket you can always take it to court. just dont **** off the cop and everything should be fine.

Kennedy Rd. near the Future Shop. I think he was going to go back to the North Star futon shop, to set up for the next victim.
But all is cool......I'll just go to court, no big deal.
Until then..... :working: :working:

Hey pulovr.. i remember wathcing tv about tint and they interviewd tintking and they said the legal limit for front was the lightest (35%) and the back windows you can put anything... no one said you can't get 35%!!! tint king does it and the police were there.

And they were also saying in the news that if the police can see through the window .. like see what's inside, the tint is ok...

I got pulled over for my tint about 6 weeks ago. Cop told me that as long as he could see in from about 10feet it would be ok. He was about 5 feet away and couldn't see in. He was cool. Told me that he would just note that he stopped me on that date and if I got pulled over again for the same thing within 30 days I'd get a ticket for the first offense as well as the second. So naturally I just had my windows down for a month.

Like pulovr preaches: as long as your nice to the cops they won't bother you.

The law in Ontario is very vague on window tinting.
It didn't specify a certain %, 35% legal is for most states.

As long as you can see from outside, basically you are legal, but the cops can always put on their sun glasses b4 they inspect your tints and they said they couldn't see thru, so.. it really depends.
