i dont know if this is right.....
but if ure lic. is suspended due to unpayment of fines e.g. tint and failure to show ure drivers lic./insurance papers, then ure insurance wouldnt go up

but if its because of demerit points, or unpayment of a speeding ticket w/ no demerit points involved, then i'd say insurance will go skyrocket high!!!!
which is very sad......my lic. is suspended toooo!

Would you not need insurance if you could not drive. Theft and fire only.

sorry man!

why dont u give the tickets for trial, and ure lic. wouldnt be suspended, until proven guilty???

WhiteAznBoi 02-Jun-2002 06:42 PM

cuz i always leaf then on my desk.. and forget about them.. but one of the ticket was 4 pointer.. so i file for court.. but the notice got stuck in the mail system.. and came to me like a month later... in this plastic envelope sayin this mail was stuck in the system.. sorry for blah blah blah.. so i think im gonna call the office and tell them this.. ( cuz i never got to defend myself... ) it had just been pure bad luck lately for me..

That is bad luck. I had two tickets in February that could have added up to 7 points, but one was reduced on the spot to no points, and the other I took to early resolution and they reduced it to no points. I say if it is for points always try to have it reduced. I have been very lucky :)

I think it also depends what your got tickets for. 6 years ago, I got charged with careless driving and my insurance instantly doubled.

WhiteAznBoi 03-Jun-2002 05:39 PM

ARE U FUQIN SERIOUS!? doubled?

Yup...doubled. Before the ticket, I was paying a bit over $3,000 a year. After that incident, my same insurance company quoted me $6,000 and change. So I of course decided to shop around. A couple of company's didn't even accept me. The ones that did quoted me between $5,500 - $8,500. Yes, $8,500. That was f**king crazy. So, I decided to not buy insurance, cuz I don't think that was worth it for a Civic. I waited about 1 and a half years and came upon a "high risk" insurance company. They charged me about $3,700. A few years go by, I turn 25 and my record has been clean, so I go shopping for insurance again and found a company that I'm pretty satisfird with. $1,700 a year. I've waited almost 6 years for this price. That's why I don't even bother with street racing anymore, cuz it just ain't worth it. Also cuz I've matured I guess.

may i ask what a "high risk" insurance company is?

i may need

Those are the companys that are supported by the government. They'll basically accept almost anyone. So if there are company's out there that won't insure you, you should ask your agent about those company's. At that time, I was insured by Pafco.

Yup as mentioned above there a few companies in the high risk pool. When I was younger I had two accidents and a speeding ticket and wound up in the high risk pool as well.
