how much doe insurance go up?

Ok, heres my deal, I got caught doint 140 in a 100 on easter weekend, and didnt fight it cause it was useless, it was a radar trap and a computer print out ticet so i could do nothing, but then i got stopped again for doing 95 in a 50 but the cop was cool and gave me a ticket for a hundred bucks and 0 points, so in all I have 2 convictions and 4 points with nothing before that (except for a minor accident that i did not claim but the cops came because the tow truck called them) Think my insurance will go up, or have any of you been in a situation similar to mine, need help cause havent told my parents about the 40 over and am not sure if it will be a noticable increase on my insurance, if it is ill tell them about it, if not i wont

Thanks for any help

It will only go up if the insurence company actually *checks* your drivers record. They usually only do that when you change policy. I rearended somebody and lost 4 points years ago and my insurence never changed, because I kept my mouth shut and kept the policy as is. If you have lost 4 points, expect your insurence to as much as triple in price.

I *highly* recommend that you tell your folks about the 40 over. It's better if they hear it from you directly than finding out through other means. If you tell them, you are just a guy with a heavy foot. If they find out the hard way, you are a liar, disrespectful, and a guy with a heavy foot. At least in their eyes. Your call though.

(800*3=2400+1600 for my sister) DAMN, hopefully im at college when they get the bill

i didn't tell my parents about my failure to show ownership ticket.. my first ticket.. and it was their fault for telling me it was in the glove box when it was in my mom's purse.

I didn't tell them cause the real reason the cop pulled me over was for doing 130km/hr on the shoulder.

the cop was actually pretty cool. he gave me a break, but he also followed me to see if my story checked out (which it did)

he told me to take it to court, show my ownership,a nd it would be all good... my parents intercepted the final letter..... sat there and waited for me to open the letter in front of them... ministry of the attorny general.. they assumed it was for something other than traffic.. haha

blah blah blah they were disappointed i wasn't open with them.. etc....

fast forward a year.. my next time getting pulled over brought forth a 52km/hr speeding ticket in a 60... i announced it when i got home like someone would announce they won $10,000.

they still weren't happy.

so you drive your car the most and yet are the occassional on it... christ I hate fraud like that....

dude if you can't pay the price take the foot off the right hand pedal.... no don't give excuses like i was in a hurry here... careful planning and you are never in a hurry....

seriously speeding tickets are just a tax on speeding.... insurnce that goes up because of the tickets is just another tax on speeding... slow down thats all you have to do.... and you avoid the tax... (plus you save on gas too)

Well, that is one way to look at it. The other way is that insurence is legalized theft. He is an occassional driver and is paying $800 a year. I'm a few years older and I'm paying exactly the same price and the insurence is solely in my name. I understand why it is required that we have insurence, but insurence companies keep raising their rates constantly and limiting our benefits. I know that there are a few people out there that take advance of the system, but you almost never see an insurence broker driving a beater.

I say anyway that you can use the rules of the system against banks, the government and insurence companies... do it.

Why would you NOT fight the 140 in a 100.
They would have reduced it for sure.

Almost 100% of the time, right when you walk in the prosecuter will ask you if you're willing to plead guilty to a lesser charge.

I got pulled once doing 26 over. Thats a couple of points. I went to court and it was instantly reduced to 15 over, no points.

From my experience, you should always go to court.. What's the worst that'll happen? They'll charge you with what you got anyways.. They can't charge you for more cuz you came to court..
Even when the cops reduce it on the spot then say better not come to court.. Once the tickets written that's it.

or you can "borrow" a car from your uncle.. that beater he drives occaisionally that he just insured and leaves in your driveway incase he needs it.

you won't have to pay any insurance, but if anything happens, his rates go up.
