Quite frankly, slamming a cr or truck that low to the ground makes a vehicle unsuitable and even dangerous for normal street use. If you have to slow your car to an absolute crawl just to enter an ordinary driveway curb cut-out, that car should be removed from the road until it is restored to a more reasonable ride height.
That's your opinion. I disagree with it. Some people are fine with that. Just as long as nothing rubs (tire to fender or muffler to ground. Everyone is happy.

but that done'st make sense..casue like some speedbumps are ridiculously high..and sometimes if thers a pot hole and you hit it..something can scratch. and if you have a full car load...you are bound to drop a bit

I'm not talking about ridiculously high speed bumps. I'm referring to ordinary curb cut-outs, ordinary rail crossings, ordinary road surfaces.

If your car is so low that it scrapes on ordinary everyday driving surfaces while carrying ordinary passenger loads, it's too low.

Not talking about ridiculously-high speed bumps here, but otherwise if your car is scraping the ground, it can be taken off the road.

The actual test is this - no body, frame, or mechanical part of your car can extend below a line drawn between the lowest portion of your rims. In other words, if you were to drive your car on your rims without tires, or if your tires should blow out on you one day, no part of the car should scrape the ground.

That's just for ride height. Your suspension travel also comes into it - suspension travel must not allow any part of the car to contact the ground at any time, except for that aforementioned unreasonably high speed bump which you would never see on public streets and highways anyways.

But if you can't clear the city-installed speed bumps found in some Toronto neighbourhoods without scraping , your car is too low and could taken off the road for being unsafe.

my dad got pulled over driving my ek around in toronto and the cop made some bull**** about how its unsafe because he heard my exhaust touch the speedbump he went over... but, he didn't give him a ticket for it or anything.

technically, i believe from a standstill, if you cut your wheel all the way to one side or the other, it can't touch the top of your fender... that's about it. they aren't going to ask you to drive them around to see if it scrapes... that's for sure...

but, depending on how low you go... forget about cartiing you buddies around man... i only carry one passenger now and maybe a 3rd in the back seat... thats it...
