how long does it take before insurance counts a ticket and raises premium?

Hi All,
After initially receiving a ticket (ie careless driving ticket), would insurance rates go up immediately, or only after the ticket has gone to court and received a final decision?

Thanks

next renewal unless they cancel you or you make a claim.

imported_kingrukus 11-Jul-2004 09:23 AM

Im screwed then, because renewal comes in August for me.

So this means that they do not care that it has not gone to court then? They will just cancel or raise your premiums even if I haven't had a chance to fight it yet?

Thanks

Careless driving? WTF?

Cynikal.Mindset 11-Jul-2004 03:31 PM

if u take it to court and the court date is after your renewal date then insurance wont know until after the court decision so you prolly will get another year's grace

Alright, so it seems as if they will not know until after the court date, which will definitely be after renewal.
