Hit while parked incident #4

So I'm about to start making phone calls, figured I'd share some accident woes with the crowd!

This marks the 4th time I've had my car hit while it's been parked... first and second times were in parking lots and left some buffable marks. Last time I got backed into at a Sunoco... hit the exact same spot as this time actually, eagle eyes will notice the screw that was drilled to hold the bumper in from last time.

So I got into work this morning and parked, noticed the person I was beside was fairly crooked in their spot (nose end really close to my car, rear end way out the other way)... thought 'whatever, it won't hit me when they pull out' and walked upstairs to work. Funny, I started walking to the car at the end of the day and thought to myself "I bet that car hit me", and voila, I was greeted to the following attachments :ohwell:

Guess it's time for a new front bumper...maybe get the front re-bar straightened out once and for all.

Don't park beside people if possible! This sucks and I hate people who do this.

Count yourself lucky ma!, My civic got crushed my a city bus while parked and i only got a small amount from my insurance, not even enough to buy a new car...

...guess it's time for an alarm with a shock sensor....and maybe some energy bars to haul ass when it goes off lol

...but in all seriousness...in all these cases i'm assuming that whoever hit your car hit-and-ran...and the repairs have fallen on you. Why not get a good alarm so you know the second someone hits you?

While it was technically a hit and run, the lady left her phone number with security in the building. Called her up and as soon as I mentioned insurance she handed me to her husband lol.

Either way, I'm taking it in tomorrow or Wednesday, insurance adjuster will look at the damage and probably offer half of what it's gonna cost... or worse, they'll want to write it off :|

I agree, an alarm is a good idea... I'd need one with a damn strong signal though since I park 5 levels underground at home.

Just got the car back, figured I'd share an 'after' pic, and I gotta say they did a really nice job. The color match was done quite well.

Work done:
+ Front bumper cover replaced & painted
+ Driver's side front fender repaired and painted
+ Driver's side headlamp assembly replaced
+ Drivers side Inner fender liner & moulding replaced
+ Rustproofing

I also had them un-dent some other stuff on the passenger side but I didn't take any before or after pics of it.

Here's the final result:

good thing it all worked out man, it looks nice now :) too bad about your luck though... i really dislike the people who cant take the responsibility to leave their number or something if they hit you.. good thing you got lucky and this lady did, what did you end up getting?

Looks good. Though 4th time getting hit...time to stay away from people wherever you park. Lol

I convinced them to put a claim in on their insurance as well, so I got 3rd party liability with deductible waived!!! All the front bumper work cost me nothing and I was covered for a rental for the entire time the car was in the shop.

I opted to pay for repairs on the passenger side door and rear quarterpanel which I scraped on a concrete barrier avoiding a crazy guy in my parking garage at home. They put a new door in, cut the quarterpanel and replaced it with new metal, refinished, painted and rustproofed the whole deal for $1600 cash... original estimates I got at other places were >$2000.
