i got an estimate from unibody and it's 700 bills, pull the frame rack and align the hood and some other stuff. i also went to Atlantic and they went over bored with it estimate at $1919.86...the guy said he doesn't have money and i have to wait a week or two for him. i didn't filed a report or anything.

The credit industry has a chart they use to predict bad debts and chance of recovery of funds. The chart has an exponential curve on it that gets increasingly steeper for each passing day that a debt remains past due and unpaid. The steeper the curve the lower the chances of ever getting repaid.

This guy is now saying he needs you to "wait a week or two for him". That alone should ring alarm bells in your head.

Given all the cash tight-wad signals that you say this guy and his daughter have been giving you right from the start, you're being incredibly stupid on this. The longer you wait, the easier it will be for the guy to stiff you completely.

At least get a report in at the local collision reporting center. Be smart and report the damn thing. It will not affect your insurance one bit.

yea i went to go talk to my agent she said i'll screw myself in the end cos $700 just the estimate. 2 weeks is a long time and if he doesn't pay me it's too late to claim it.
