HELP!@!! ticket!

I was driving to work today, when i got pulled over by not one, but two cops, neways they gave me the usual asked me a billion questions if i had done anything illegal to my car, and then went to his car for like 20 min and came back with a ticket for my fog lights, cuz they're green... Now the ticket is for improper headlights, is there anything i can fight this with? are fog lights technically headlights?
also if i change the bulb or the lens or whatever and take a picture would i be able to get off? i really don't have $110 to dish out for a stupid cop, esp now that i doled out money to drive for this month...:fustrated
his excuse was that his 'supervisors have a no tolerance rule for lights during this season'.... stupid cops any info would be great.... TIA

If you are going to fight it it's a 50/50 chance. The fact that the officer wrote headlights may let you off the hook. It really depends on the judge. Fight it.

Section 62 of HTA

Covering or coating of lamps prohibited

(7) No person shall drive upon a highway a motor vehicle where either or both of the lamps that are required on the front of the vehicle by subsections (1), (2) and (3) are coated or covered with a coloured material or lacquer or where either or both of the lamps have been modified by the attachment to the lamps or the motor vehicle of any device that reduces the effective area of the lenses or the intensity of the beam of the lamps.

Good luck.

alex i forgot to tell you. the other day when we were going home, your 3rd brake light (top mounted one) doesn't work or is disconnected. you don't have a spoiler so it should work. anyway, thought I'd let you know. good luck fighting the ticket.

Ok, just take a dated picture, it'll be thrown out if u dont really want to argue your case, just showing the picture, to the prosecutor, that you removed or changed the light/lens to a YELLOW or WHITE coating will get it dismissed.

i would suggest doing that, kinda like a walk in 'n' walk out thing, instead of pleading and arguing....Good Luck man.......

OT: I heard on the news last year that they were arguing a case about having purple foglights that have way better visibility that yellow and white light. I am yet to follow up on that, im one lazy *** m0-f0

i was talking to someone yesterday who said they argued a similar ticket and that i had a good chance cuz fog lights are accessories and not headlights? i dunno if this is true or not?

Well like I said, the fact that he wrote the ticket wrong plays a factor.

After you replace the lens or bulb, go to court and they'll ask you if the problem is corrected. If you tell them that you did, chances are they'll just drop it.

i dunno if i want to change the lenses tho, cuz then basically i have to throw out the whole fog light.... and it's gonna be pretty much totally useless..... but to be honest i don't see anywhere in the HTA where it says lights on the front can't be green, well accessory lights, i read headlights, but would fog lights technically be headlights too?!?

I don't think you can get in trouble if it's your fog's that are a diff. colour. Your headlight's are white I presume?
