Heafty Speeding Ticket

Hey, this past summer i was driving along a back country road, heading to a meat with a friend and i was doing about 110, 115km/h. There were no cars for miles and i havnt seen anyone since i headed out. So i kept traveling at that speed and came into a little town that i wasnt to fermilure with, i didnt happen to see the 50km/h speed sigh that was completely covered by tree branches, leaves and limbs and i drove right into a Police Officer doing radar. i was doing 115km/h right on the dot. He threw the cherries on and charged me with 115km/h in a 50km/h zone, i was charged $480, 5 numerit points and a meeting with a Drive Awareness Rep. I havnt heard anyone with a larger SPEEDING fine, but id love to hear about them. Lemme know.

Thanks:
Derrick

i forgot to mention my mom got a speeding ticket last year in like NOV for doin 153km/h on 401 but the cop lowered to 149km/h
so she doesnt get her license taken away and i think she had to pay a fine of $395....i think the fine is determined on whats the speed limit and the place urs was by a village in a 50kmh speed zone

That is quite a story. The most I've personally heard someone get a ticket for was 50 or so over.

I think most people are bright enough to know that the speed limit in a city/town is 50 unless otherwise posted.

My question is have you learned your lesson and not received anymore tickets of a similar nature.

The part that i dont get is that i was asked if i have learned my lesson. First of all, the post totally explaines its self where 1. i wasnt driving like an idiot so there was no lesson to learn. 2. It was coming up to a little town (OUT SKIRTS) and the sign was covered by shrubary and i was unfamiliar with the territory. 3. no i havnt gotten any tickets of the same caliber. Sir.....the bright ones read the post before they re-post saying $h!T about ppl being bright. THANKS FOR THE POST.

1. 115 in a 50 is being an idiot.
2. Even if the sign was covered, everyone should know the speed limit drops to 50 from the 80 it is out of town when you enter a town or city. Eitherway, you were going pretty fast.
3. Bright people also have good grammar and spelling skills and don't brag about their poor driving record online.

You got off easy. The recommended fine for anything 50+ over the limit is $9.75 per km over, plus 20% victim surcharge.

And "merging" into a 50 zone doing 115 is still speeding, no matter how you try to minimize it.

Yes, I'm sure even the mods here speed, but doing 10 or 20 or even 30 over on the 401 is hardly in the same league as doing 65 over in a 50 zone. One is like giving a person a slight shove, while the other is akin to knocking a person unconscious with a right hook. Both are assault, but other than that shared term, they are hardly alike at all.

Then maybe you should read the title of this forum. It's for discussing legal information about tickets and infractions and what to do, not on "Who else got a speeding ticket"

On that note, since seeing you are not asking for any advice or suggestions, this thread is closed.
