Got a ticket in my beater!!!

im sooo fu*kin pissed right now, im driving home from school on steeles west in my 89 tempest when a cop passes by going eastbound and then does a u-turn, right away i knew he was coming after me but i didnt know why cuz i was doing the limit.

he turns on the lights and i pull over, he asks for my documents and i realise i have my civic insurance and ownership on me. i tell him the story how this is only my winter car and my documents for it are sitting on my kitchen table but being the *** that this guy is he gives me a ticket for the ownership and warning for the insurance.

i ask him out of curiosity why did u pull me over, he said "u looked suspicious"...the ONLY reason i can think of why i looked "suspicious" is cuz i was wearing a friggin bandana, the moron right away assumes im some sort of thug in a stolen car.

i never even wear a friggin bandana that aint my style i was too lazy to make the hair lol but im so friggin pissed im not paying ****

go to the court house
ask to speak to the prosecutor
show him the ownership and insurance papers, and (s)he should drop it
if not, file for trial and when you go their, sign in and show her the papers.

that will get it dropped

Wasn't the cop right?

I always argue with my friends about this stuff...

He thought you might be doing something illegal cause you wore a bandana. That's a form of profiling. Mind you bandana's on a person of ANY race is part of the bad-*** image thingy.

But, he found out he was right. That says alot.

Maybe there is a possibility that of the people he has pulled over that wear bandana's, the slightest majority (say 55%) have been in the wrong.

Would you then feel that he acted unfairly? Rather, I'd say he's efficient.

So what I'm saying is if you drop the bad-boy look you'll get less harassed. Or excersice your free right to look bad-*** but expect more "attention" of BOTH good (the chicks dig it)and bad (police).

I'd expect scrutiny since its part of the bad-*** image...

Besides, not many bad-boys that actually walk the walk (commit street crimes) wear pink sweaters!

Have you ever bought illegal drugs from a white guy in a business suit? lol If so, give me his number!

What sux about profiling is that it is often applied to race too. That's plain wrong. But suppose people that came from Xville had a high criminal rate. Wouldn't it be a better use of resources to give them more survelience attention?
I really don't know the right answer to that.

the prosectuor can and most probably do it if you show him valid papers that were in effect before the charge was laid.

I had the same thing happen, downtown.
I was pulled over and I lost my insurance slip.

Call the number on the back of the ticket and you can book a first apperance with the prosectuor. They will send you a date in the mail. Bring your regerstration.

I can't believe he pulled you over because you looked suspecious?????? What by law is considered suspecious??? Would a midget riding a skateboard in a g-string and mesh see threw top with a leather spiked neckless get question even though he was minding his own business and boarding in front of his house... because that looks "suspecious" ??? I think you get my point.....

A friend of mine in Mississauga had the same thing happen to him. He refused to take off the bandana because it was just a bandana and not some gang label or something dumb like that. The officer gave him a ticket but I believe it was driving related. If he had taken off the bandana the cop was going to let him off.

Odd.
