on the 407 with my wife doing 100km and we pass a OPP just pulling on. i forgot that my front plate was not on and **** there go the lights. i proceed to pull over and my father who was in the car in front pulls over to, i get all my paper work handy as it was raining out and if you are prompt with this it will help, so i role down the window and in a poilite voice good morning sir, here is my info, then he asks the questions. "DO U KNOW WHY I PULLED YOU OVER?" i respond by saying that it was for the front plate, he is correct, then asks where is it and yada yada. so he goes to his car to do the paper work, and returns 5 min later and asks me who does this toronto police buisness card belong to, i respond its my father inlaw and my wife said "my dad" them he tells me my insuance slip is 2 years past due and i am like crap, but to my suprise he says "I DO NOT HAVE TIME TO DEAL WITH THIS TODAY SO HAVE A NICE DAY" then i am like same to you and we left, the morall of the story be nice and polite and ahoust

worked for me more than a few occasions... minus the cops daughter part i cant stress enough how far polite and honesty goes when dealing with the police...
