I can't see that being your fault if your car is stationary.

Get the estimate(s) printed and confront the man.

Parking lots are private property and each party's ins. pay's accordingly. You should have called the Po!

If you were illegally parked in a traffic lane, you could be held 50% at fault.

If you were legally parked, you won;t be held to any fault at all.

If worst comes to worst you can take him to court with a couple wirrten estimates, dont have to be from his friend, and sue him for the damages for repair. That does hold up.

Speak with the man one more time, if he does not agree with the terms then inform your insurance company. I hope you were smart enought to take down his insurnace and stuff. Basically what will happen is you can make a claim through your insurance company who will speak to is insurance company and they will determine the percentage of who is at fault. If all works out and your 100% not at fault then no need to worry. His insurance will have to cover everything. That's the best case. However your insurance company pays for everything now until fault is accessed. Just be aware of that.
