My ticket was also for $359, and I have a court date set for August. But I was wondering about a couple things:

1.) He didnt show me the radar after I asked to be shown it.
2.) Does inproper spelling on the ticket void it? Because he spelled the name of the street and town wrong.

Thanks.

Improper spelling will not get you off a ticket. As far as him not showing you the radar, you can use that as part of a defence. I'd suggest writing to the precinct that the cop belongs to and requesting manuals, specs, on the radar which they use. People have said that the odds of them responding with the desired info is 50%, I haven't actually done this myself yet (my last ticket got thrown out in first attendance). If they don't provde you with any information then you can tell the judge that they ignored your repeated requests to get any information on the nature of the equipment which they used to charge you with an offence, and therefore you can not adequately defend yourself against the charges. Keep in mind that if you want to fight something in court you have to come up with an argument to counter the charges. You can't just say " the cop didn't show me the gun acquit me". But if you manage to tie a few things together which make the cop look like a dick you might have a chance.

Does anyone know if theres a way to prove my car couldnt have accelerated to the speed he was giving me the ticket at. Because I started from a standstill and there is no way I got to 112 km/h as he said I did with the distance of radar to car of 1 km(approx). He seemed shady from the beginning, and when he told me Im not allowed to see the radar I got a little angry.

One more question, I have a legitimate execuse for not being able to attend court on the day sent to me. I read in the beating the rap file that I should call a week before asking for a continuance, should I do this? Or should I let them know now that I will be out of the country on my court date.

Go in and talk to the prosecutor for sure... do it now, don't wait till your court date or after! he'll tell you what to do, they are usually pretty nice about it. Explain to him that you asked to see the gun and he wouldn't show you and also it would help if you have a pretty ****ty car, bring in pics and be like "look, this is what I drive, I can barely hit 110 on the highway, there is no way I could have accelerated that fast."

Not being able to see the radar is no defence. The cop is under no obligation to let you see it, and the argument behind that is that you are safest from harm and passing traffic sitting in your own car, not out wandering in traffic to peer at a radar screen.

Trying to argue that your car can barely hit 110 will just cause the judge and the Crown to first roll their eyes and see you as a weasel, and then probably treat you like a weasel.
