Friend got rear-ended by a taxi in the rain...

ok, so i already told my friend he was a dumbass for how he handled the situation, but when the crazy rain hit here in mississauga last night, my friend got rear ended by a taxi... they got out and the driver was basically pushing him away saying there is no damage, but he felt it and is still feeling it, so it must of been hard enough... he was in his escort gt so its pretty tough and there isn't much damage, just scraping underneath the bumper... i think the cabbie should of offerred his insurance info or something, but my frieind in a panic and the weather was still really bad then didn't get his info and continued to come and meet up with us...

any ideas on what he can do? or did he just screw himself over...

If it is just paint scratch, forget it. I got rear ended by a 18 wheeler and I was like... whatever. The truck driver told me "ok ok ok ok ok ok?"

I couldn't bother with him, it was on 401 west during traffic hour in shower, so I said forget it.

Bumper is meant to take impact, as long as it is within spec. Next time, take info for future references. But know this, that someday, your friend might rear end someone and hoping to get a break. So I say just let it go.

Mabye Im just an *** but there is no way I would have let a cabi get away with that. Especially the way they drive in Toronto. ALways in a rush, never let you in, screw that. But I guess Im sterotyping. Doesnt really matter because without his info you cant do anything. Even if you reported it as a hit and run I think you only have 48 hours to even do that.

Not to mention, just cause you cant visually see any damage, especially in the rain, doesn't mean that there isn't any underneath.

Maybe next time... well... hopefully there is no next time.
