First Accident

I had my first accident today. I wasnt at fault but was accused of being in the wrong by the other driver [female middle aged]

So I was on steeles going West and making a left turn, south on Midllefield and on the yellow I proceeded to clear the intersection. As always when I make my turns even if im going at a higher than normal speed I manage and always maintain my control in my own lane not entering or swirving into the other lane especially if I know someone else is there.

So I just about finished my turn and then the Lady recklessly makes her right turn and side swipes my door and quarter panel with her drivers side front corner bumper. The van she was driving was the 'company van' that she was driving with down syndrome occupants.

After getting the details she comments how I swirved into her lane. It could have been easily avoided if she didnt intrude into my lane with her 2 foot wide turn. from my passenger, she said she was focused on me turning and not on making her turn which caused it.

I have a few crappy photos but will post some ones up soon when I can. I estimate that its about 800-1000 in damages. and Im going through insurance since she isnt owning up.

I guess I have to be thankful that none of my kids or anyone was hurt in the accident. And I had just finished repainting the and fixing the quarterpanels. Well theres my grievous post.

"she said she was focused on me turning and not on making her turn which caused it." This says it all, everyone knows you hit what you are looking at. She had no business making he right on a yellow, she is supposed to stop and let you clear the intersection.

Did she get charged?

no she didnt, we called but they said its not major enough for the police to come, so just goto the collision reporting.
