fire hydrant

the 3 meter rule where you can't park
infront of the hydrant....how do you
measure it exactly?




also, is the 3 meters on either side, or
three in total (ie only 1.5 metre away?)

The area around a fire hydrant must be kept clear for fire department access in the event of an emergency.

Distance is measured from the centre of the fire hydrant.

There should be yellow painted lines on the curb. Don't park within that line.

I've seen the fire dept. smash a car window to run a hose before....don't park in front of a hydrant.
