if you have a motor swap, let the facility know because they'll have to run it as a hot rod. if you boost, let them know for the same reasons. the test will be done the same as any other e-test, they just run under a hot rod. from what i head, hot rods have lower standards, just don't quote me on that! good luck!

the vehicle is only classed as a hotrod if it has a motor swap of differnet displacement as if the car can with a 1.5 (sohc)and you throw in a 1.6 or so on. (sohc or dohc) it will be classed as a hotrod. if the vehicle has come with a 1.5 sohc non vtec it is NOT classed as a hot rod as it still delivers the same displacement as the stock motor same as if you install a bseries 1.6 (b16a/b) in your 1.6 (sohc vtec/nonvtec) as long as it is the same displacing engine as stock i will be normally ran like any other.
you can tell them that you have a motor swap but they have to check under the hood anyways to check and also check that all emission equiptment is intack. if you car has no cat, or an exhaust leak dont even bother taking in the car as you will just be refused till you go fix it, this is called a pre-test check.
there are a few things that are checked before even accepting the vehicle for the emissions test. hope this helps for some, but if anyone has any questions please pm me and i will answer them to the best of my ability for you.
good luck to all and happy testing.
