damn cops

Honestly, do toronto cops have nothing better to do then pull hondas over and try to give them tickets. thursday night i was going to the airport to pick my girlfriend up when this cop pulls out of a gas station and flips his cherries on, so i pull over and he walk up and says im pulling you over because of your muffler, its louder than stock. everything on my car is legal and i know the laws for exhausts and it has to be under a certain decibal range to be illegal. my 2.25 cat is definatly not loud enough to be illegal. so he asks me to rev the car up, and all i could hear was my intake over the exhaust, so he says thankyou and goes to his car and writes up a ticket for unnecasary noise. Meanwhile im from collingwood and in order to fight the ticket i have to drive to brampton to fight it. so im just gonna pay the fine say screw it. It just pisses me off that cops have nothing better to do! geeze

that sucks kyle!
but i'd fight it, im fighting mine from darknights along with other fines, did the cop have a decible reader with him? did he write a decible reading on the ticket? if not then that cops SOL cuz he has NO proof that its too loud, i was told this when i got ex coppers to help me fight my tickets, they did the same **** to me, started the car up, reved it to maybe 1700 rpm and hes like thats fine, heres your ticket

also, you gotta remember, months end, cops want there quota so he prolly saw ur from collingwood and said "well this punks not gonna come fight it, easy ticket"

and yes.. i did call u a punk... punk!

im not attempting a ricer loud exhaust, i just put a resonator on the thing to make it even quieter. I had a feeling they needed to write the decibal reading down. i think i will take it to court, he told me to change it back to stock and bring in a picture to prove it. what a joke i could take a picture of any stock exhast and bring it in, dosnt matter anyways my tip looks stock. And no it wont go into insurance because there are no points. insurnace only nails you if points are deducted

sorry man, everything to do with your car aside from parking/sticker violations can effect your insurance, my 10km over ticket effected my insurance, no points though

hahah, a parking ticket would never raise your insurance, of course speeding affects your insurance because you are rating yourself as a highrisk driver, anything to do with licensing or parking wouldnt hurt ur insurance. i have a total of 4 tickets that have nothing to do with speeding or moving violations and my insurance hasnt changed.

thats tru.. but the officer is suppost to be in his car with the windows up and the stereo and a certain level and then they can decide from there. IMO i would go fight the ticket.. just say is the cop and licensed tech. , does he know wat kind of muffler is on the car, and how does it know whether it is legal (passes canadian standards) so find the box it came in. So fight the ticket.. and they dont know how loud it exactly is becuase when ur outside the car its different, compared to inside the car.

Try not paying it. Sometimes, stuff like that slips through the cracks.

Yes, people might say that you will have to pay more in the end if you don't pay it immediately, but you just might get away with it by not paying.

In Hamilton, if you are issued a parking violation ticket, you can ignore those. The really tend to go by the honour-system.

Fight the man! (LOL)

Only heavy debt is going to affect your credit...

I just got the same ticket, the cop told me the insurance looks at the # of tickets it doesnt matter if there minor, so fight it or your insurance may go up.

yeap, only difference with the tickets is that, moving violations can involve points.
but a ticket by a traffic officer will go towards your ins.
you may get lucky and some ins won't take considerations, but most do. i had a failure to surrender ins paper ticket and i just paid it and said fack it, even though i had papers. but i forgot them at home, and i got boned with that ticket and ins for 3 years.
