Cooksville GO Station: Parking infraction

I dunno how many of you here ever park your car at the Cooksville GO station in Mississauga to take the train or buses downtown, but today I came back from work and saw a stupid parking ticket from the GO.

I'm quite cheesed because its been obvious for months that this station does not have enough parking spots so many people including myself have resorted to find any available space at the ends of the parking lot to park our cars.

So what do they expect to accomplish by this? I took a look at a lot of the cars that were parking in areas that are not originally designated for parking and only in the area that I parked did cars there get ticketed.

further down the lot nobody got ticketed for parking in a non designated area.

The charge is only $25, but it still cheeses me. The parking ticket is to be paid to GO office at Union Station, what I wanna know is, will there be any major repurcussions if I decline to pay this money grab attempt?

I about 95% sure that I won't be taking the GO transit anymore. They can have my $25 but they're losing out on the $100+ i spend traveling with them a month going to work.

i thought parking tickets were valid only if issued by the municipality. was this such a ticket or a GO parking ticket.

It could go on your credit report if you dont pay it. Or, if the GO people who wrote it have city by-law authority, it could be a real parking ticket.

"I about 95% sure that I won't be taking the GO transit anymore. They can have my $25 but they're losing out on the $100+ i spend traveling with them a month going to work."

why don't you go tell them that and see if they take the ticket back. maybe they'll be reasonable with you once you explain the whole situation.

on a more non-serious note:

Bring a cup of water with you and if they refuse to help then shout them same quote you wrote and throw the water in his/her face. storm out after stomping your feet as loud as you can.

lol @ J-SKI's suggestion...

it is pretty crap, as someone who took the cooksville GO for 4+ years when I went to school downtown unless you get there early you ain't got no home of finding a spot... that goes for all GO stations... I'd say just start taking an earlier train and start leaving from work earlier... explain the situation to your employer and see if that'll fly...

Don't think you have to pay the ticket tho, wait and see what happens...

hahah , J-Ski you're quite the joker, but yes I realize how childish my statement was.... I was just really cheesed to find such a ticket on my windshield after coming back from work.

It looks like a GO issued parking ticket, but there is some small print about it going to my credit report if I don't pay the fine.

I'll see if it is an actual municipal ticket.

The other thing that makes no sense is, they provide Cooksville station with the most amount of departure times. If they want less people going to Cooksville station than they should move some departure points to the other stations to ****** out the amount of passengers. Dixie GO could use some more departure times, there's always spots left at that station, the only reason I wasn't using that station was because of the lack of bus times.

BAH...
