Yep, no points, you can't beat that. Pay it, lesson learned.

the cop did you a favour.

If I were you, I would pay it.

Basically, he doesn't want to go to court for whatever reason (maybe he didn't have you on radar and just guessed your speed, maybe he's being nice)

He gave you a deal. no points is the most important thing, and $50 fine isn't worth spending a few hours to go to court, sit around, and hope to get off.

when you get the full charge.. or if you think you're being dicked around.. take it to court.. if you feel it's fair.. or you're getting a deal.. no need to be a *****.

when you think about how much speeding you've done.. it isn't too bad.

i'm pretty sure it wasn't your first time speeding. haha

he meant the ticket was originally for $150 and got reduced to $50.

madspeed: Pay the ticket, 50 bucks is nothing in this case.

Consider this incident a wake up call. And again, God has shined his rightousness upon your head (the big one) and again, you were lucky that no points were deducted, and it was dropped immediately without court attendence.

"You have been warned" - God.

oh my bad!! I though you were doing 150 in a 50, and go it reduced.

Considering he lowered it from $150 to $80, I would say just pay it, and learn from your mistake.

Your insurance may be affected by a bit. Get your divers abstract if your that worried.

I don't think so. No points lost. I was driving my bosses car a few years back. It had bald tires and it was raining. Long story short, I rear ended a guy. The impact was only enough to bend the licence plate but it was still an impact and the @!$@$%@#$% driver called the cops and I was charged. Lost 4 points and I think the fine was around $300.

Anyway, my insurence never changed because it didn't happen on my car. The insurence company never actually checked my record. As long as you don't change companies and keep your mouth shut, you should be fine. Even if they do check, you didn't loose points, so I highly doubt there will be any real record.

However, you are now in the police system. You better not get caught again or you are screwed.

madspeed, think of it as another tax for not having patience or having a lust for driving/speed like any healthy male.

warnings.. blah blah blah... speed doesn't kill. stupidity kills. sometimes your speed will affect the outcome of the stupidity of others, but if you life your life to that excess, what's the point.

of course this wasn;t your first time. i have a feeling it won't be your last either.

In general insurance cares about convictions not points. For example, speeding from 1-49km over the is the same to insurance. But most insurance companies let you have 1 minor conviction on your record before they raise your rates. So if you never had a conviction in the past 3 years, this one probably won't affect your rates. Also, insurance companies don't always refresh your driving record upon renewal (atleast from my experience) so if they don't, they won't even know of the ticket.
