Careless Ticket
 

With my accident I was given a ticket for Careless Driving, $330 I believe and 6 points. The cop had to issue it since the other car took off. But the cop said 'I was not paying attention and did not see the other car. Take it to court, fight it and it will most likely be dropped.' My Dad and I witnessed him saying this.

I have a first attendance booked for Aug 12th. Since the cop is saying he wasn't paying attention and didn't see the car it should be dropped. However since it's first attendance, what do I say to the Justice of the Peace?

I have no problem paying the ticket, I just want the points gone but it would be nice to get the ticket dropped totally.

If the cop shows I doubt that it would be a good idea to say to the judge as it will make him look stupid so he'll probably deny it. If he doesn't show, I would use that as an explanation.

The cop said he would say it. He seemed like a really nice guy too. Also no cops in a first attendance.
