What was the ticket for? Careless driving? Racing? Though I think both charges are the same in terms of points, fines and insurance issues. I could be wrong though.

I've ran into this situation before. Back in the Millies days about 6 years ago, myself and about 20 others got blocked off at both ends on a side street just north of Hwy 7 by about 6 cruisers. There was literally no where to run. I'm not sure about the other drivers, but I got ticketed for careless driving. The lawyer that I got couldn't do anything about it at court. So, I got charged and my insurance instantly doubled. Yes, instantly doubled. After that, I stayed away from those street racing scenes, cuz it just ain't worth it.

Were you actually wrecklessly driving? Or did you just get lumped in with the rest who were? Was there any proof?

Yes, it was actually wreckless driving. I guess someone on the streets called the cops. I was young, so I hope that's a good enough reason. It started out with approximately 60 cars. Who ever kept up would know where we were headed. The ones that didn't keep up, were lost. We were literally swerving in and out of traffic, passing people in the oncoming traffic lanes. Not stopping at stop signs on the side streets. Sometimes evening running reds. All this just to get to the destination point. Started at Millies on Steeles, and ended up on a street around Bayview and Hwy 7. I beleive there's houses there no on that street. It used to be a long straight which seemed newly paved. Now that I think back, damn, that was stupid. At that time and age, I never thought about the consequences and the innocent bystanders/drivers.
Please people, don't street race. It's just not worth it.

Thanx for the input guys, I'll relay the info to him. Actually, I think he got charged for Racing a Motor Vehicle. He hasn't gotten back to me on the details, yet. I'll let you guys know as soon as I find out for myself.
