Best insurance company?

I'd like to know:

-How many of you (under 25 yrs old) have insurance with your own name, and how much it costs you per month

-is there a way to have insurance under grandparents' name to lower the rate?

-which insurance companies are best for young drivers?

I need to know because when i got an insurance broker to do all the math, he told me that there is only ONE insurance company that will insure me with my own name. he said it will cost me close to $580 per MONTH. that is ridiculous.

i am 20, with 2 tickets. i got these tickets when i was driving my car from repair shop to my house with expired temp permit.
one for no licence plate and one for no insurance. (i had insurance at the time but the cop told me that having an expired temp permit is the same as having no insurance on the vehicle.)

i cant insure my car under my mom's name since her licence is currently suspended until 2005. (i cant wait that long)

i feel like im in a dilema. i can use all the info i can get guys

wow thats harsh, i have an accident and 2 tickets and its 300 a month, having no insurance is a big boo-boo in the eyes of insurance companies

I have insurance in my own name ... I'm a 4 star driver ... and I pay 22 bucks a month .... then again the car is in storage .. when it's out of storage I pay 370 a month..... but thats because it's listed as a commuter vehicle and gets lots of mileage ... but thats not going to happen this next year

I'm with the personal

those are major super bad charges you got there your screwed dude... period end of case.

next time if the temp permit is expired then don't drive the car. get it towed.... it'll cost less then screwing up your record will cost

Might be off the MTO record's, but not the insurance's.

Try up tp 6 years (or more) in some cases. :nods:

you might want to look into insuring a beater, its better than not being insured for that period of time?!

well when shopping for insurance you only have to declare the past 3 years in tickets and the past 6 years of accidents....

But they will STILL search for all records before they insure you.
