because i parked in front of my house. WARNING!!! RANT INCLUDED!!!

facts: >semi detach house has a 3 car parking space (1 for garage and 2 for outdoor)
>garage is packed with stuff so we cant park there.
>we have 3 cars but we can fit it all in the space for outdoor, we usually do this at night so that we don't have to move cars around in the day.
>i live in sauga,
>there are about 5 cars parked on the same street
>today is saturday, the event happened around 8am - 1pm
>no white marks on my tires, what so ever (like they do in TO)

now.. what happened...

I parked my car on the road just in front of my house like i always do in the day for 1 1/2 years now. hours later i got a ticket for parking for more than 3 hours??? ok WTF@#$! this is truly possible in DOWNTOWN TORONTO but in MISSISSAUGA??? what pissed me even more is that among the 5 cars that are parked along the road, I was the only one who got a FKN ticket!!

lkgurn apeo35n0 789 a35 0ty8bn o5bo5iyQ#*(%&(Q#%^&#$*()%^)&*(%^ WTFFFFF!!!

can someone pls explain......

I cant wait for monday to talk to the officer who gave me this ticket...

RIDICULUS!!!

Well you are only aloud a 3 hour max parking on the street any where in mississauga, just like in oakville/burlington. So just deal with it, you got cough this time, every one else will get it in time.

Generally, for Peel region, you got a ticket because someone called parking enforcement. I would definitely say this is the case if you are the only car that got the ticket.

Definately, same deal in Etobicoke. Parking patrol only comes when neighbours complain. So your next step is to figure out who called them:)

Not always. I got a random ticket in front of my home a few months ago. I called Parking Enforcement and asked if it was because of a complaint and I was told no. Sometimes the parking guys just ticket random people. With the 3 hour time limit, maybe your luck just ran out. Take the ticket to the Parking Enforcement office and tell them your side of the story. Often they will just dismiss the ticket.

Yes, I know. I too got a ticket like that a few years back. Not much you can do. The time it takes to argue and complain is more valuable than just paying the $25.00 or whatever it is now.

What are parking tickets? I don't understand that?

Rush hour? Never heard of such a thing.

hula_balu 21-Feb-2009 11:15 PM

thanks for the info. one of my neighbors is having a bad day and just wanted me to have one too. will the cops tell you who complained? cause i cant wait to meet this neighbor.

07Ex 22-Feb-2009 09:54 AM

^ No they won't tell you even if they know. Most likely they won't know because the call they got was from someone who just told them that a car fitting this and this description is always parked on the street and is blocking their view or whatever.

Trybal 22-Feb-2009 11:26 AM

Either way, you have a douchebag on the street.

jdmcivic 25-Feb-2009 03:05 PM

its a random patrol of the neighbourhood sometimes, but neighbours could complain too, they usually chalk one of your tires on the first trip and then if the car is not moved within the 3 hours window they ticket you.. your best bet is to make an appointment with the prosecutor and ask for reduced funds, i did this a couple of times and the lowest i paid on parking ticket was 10 bucks they could not go lower for me in the city of Richmond Hill

hula_balu 25-Feb-2009 03:15 PM

^^^i thought of the chalking of the tire too cause thats what they do in toronto. my car didnt have a chalk mark what so ever.
