Auto Insurance Question

Just one question, can ONE INDIVIDUAL be insured under two different insurance companies with two cars.(One car with each insurance company)

For an example one car with Ing and the other car with Pilot, insured under the same name?

Some insight on this would be extremely appreciated!

-Thanks in advance

k.. if you have 3 liscensed drivers and 3 cars.. you cannot have one person on two.. all three have to be primary on one.. and they do check on this.. but if your one person and have two cars that is possible as well but like cee_mon said go with the mulicar discount

Both companies will do an autoplus search and see that you own 2 cars with 2 seperate insurance companies and ask you why you have this .... what they do from there is up to them ...

Well, its really up to the Underwriting department , what they do with the policy. I don't really think there is an Statutory Violation, so I don't think they would have any reson to cancel it , but I know for a fact, that on the insurance application you fill out when you apply, they ask if you own any other vehicles, and where they are insured. If you say no, and then they find out otherwise, they do have the right to cancel, as you have lied on a application, and that is a violation.

Just a sidenote, why would you want to vehicles insured with two seperate companies? You get more of a discount if you have 2 with the same company.

you can do that, but the real question is "why?"..just put both cars under the same company and get the discount, which has been said already
