Anyone had experience with insurance...
Just wondering if anyone here has gone the "legal" route with insurance after spending alot of money on their car... ie. having it re-appraised, and they're rates (probably) going up slightly....
My buddy just had his Integra stolen and he is gettin raped by his insurance.
I'm not looking forward to getting screwed like he is, so if my rates go up a bit, so be it.

A friend of mine has done this with his M3. An older M3 (95) is rare enough, but he has also spend alot of money on his stereo system as well as suspension and minor performance mods. He had his car professionally appraised and then the insurance company takes the appraisal and bases your rate off of it. Basically by taking this route, his car is FULLY covered in the event of theft, accident, etc. IMO, I would suggest anyone that has put alot of cash into mods on their car to do this. You will obviously pay more for insurance, but at least you know that everything on your car is fully covered.
