Yeah I got one today. A weird one at that.

I was heading east on Britannia towards Queen and traffic was back up underneath the bridge. Basically the congestion is for people who want to cross over the intersection of Queen/Britaainnia. The left turn lane is usually empty and its not not hard to turn there. Anyhow, today I used the center turning lane for about 300 meters till I made it to the turning. I made the turn and just as I got to work, a black unmarked cruiser flashed me and it was downhill from there.

So right now I have a ticket worth 110 dollars for get this; failure to drive in marked lane...I thought when I got stopped it was for speeding

I hope I can fight this so that I don't get raped by insurance later on. .

Sounds like a discretion ticket for the cop. Those intersections suck, Steeles & Tomken is like that, everyone cuts into the turn lane way before the intersection. It is against the law though, that's why you got the ticket. If you were also speeding that's probably why the cop decided to give it to you. The bad part about non-speeding tickets is you can't really get it reduced, you have to fight it and hope to win.

If you actually went through with your Driver's Ed, then you know you cannot use the centre lane as a driving lane.

Lesson learned. Whatever you do, stay inside the solid line. Another friendly advise for future, do not cut into highway slow lane via the marked triangle zone, or vice versa just to save a few seconds of delay, instant ticket and on 404 South pass Finch, everyday, tons of idiots do it and a cruiser just park there, and write tickets left and right. I once saw 8 cars lined up at the shoulder.
