accident in a parking lot (private property)
hey i got into a accident at a parking lot..
i was backing out of my parking space..backed up n a car hit me from behind... he said it was my fault i was backin up but yea anyways his hood is ****ed, my car i donno yet its kinda messed but his car his hood is the only part thats been hit. so a new hood = $300 less for sure right
anyways i just wanted to know private property = isnt it you pay for yourself and he pays for himself...

hahaha as far as i know he can go **** his hat . . . . someone hit me before, in a parking lot, i had to cover my damages . . . cuz it was private property, maybe if your a nice guy you'll split it with him, if you were backing out and he hit you, he should have been watching better, so should you have . . but . . private property is private property, correct me if im wrong someone . .

yeah thats what i was thinking, he kept wanting to report it..
im young i just got my g2 i told him okay can we do a cash deal.. he said no report..i said okay then just report it w/e your gonan get screwed with me haha then he calls back n say he dont wanna report..

dun worry...report it...cops wont bother comming...cops cant handle these cases on private property, unless its major...ur suppose to pay for ur own damages, so tell him to go to the cops...

I've been hit twice in gas stations from morons throwing their car into reverse at the pumps and backing into me .. (one time I was in a mini van how do you not see a minivan ... anyways)
both times went to the reporting center... was asked...
"is the damage above 1000 dollars?" well since it wasn't you get told to have a nice day you don't report it .. of course you also don't have to pay him, you tell him to speak with his insurance company thats what they are there for...

Yeah i tried to get a police witness but they said they cant come if no one is injured, but yeah my car is definitely less than him..
well he was being pretty cocky with his friends about it...he had friends in another car their like oh its your fault, you jsut got your g2 and first accident n started laughing.... n then i told them its private property its 50/50 im willin to pay you to fix ur hood and done deal..haha they laugh they said its not 50/50 no cash deal im reporting, laughed some more thot i was BSing n their like ur so young... lol trying to threaten me like i didnt know the rules n stuff...
basically if he reports it what happens to my insurance will it go up to ?

Its not a valid case...The courts, 1st of all don't have the rights to interfere with private property...The only time i saw cops get involved in a Car accident on private property was when a RSX was drivin really quick and slid into another car.....Dun worry bout it...tell them to call the cops, n report you...Like previously mentioned, this is why insurance is here, there is a reason we pay for it...
I feel that guys anger, but hes dumb for thinking he can lie to u, regardless of your fault or not...he juss thinks ur inexperienced thats all...

yeah i know him, n his friend just kept laughing...i mean i woulda helped pay but nah not anymore now that i found out i dont need to lol..
he said he got in a accident just a few weeks before, if he claims this one too then im pretty sure hes gonna get screwed

It's a 50/50, my Mum backup into a women at her work, she went and told the women what happened and she said ok how do we settle this, my Mum offered to pay for her damage cause it was her fault. My Mum went and got quotes on her damage and just gave her a cheque for it, my Mum called her insurance company to see if it was cheaper to do it, but it wasnt, her insurance would have gone up and the claim would have stayed with her for 5 years or something like that. Tell the guy that you offered to pay for some of the damage but not all of it, it was equally his fault. Doesnt matter if you've been driving for 10 years or 10 minutes, accidents happen and both parties were at fault. The cops will tell him its not worth their time unless damage is over $1000 on one vehicle. The insurance company will tell him that its a 50/50 claim. Thats why most people drive off if they hit someone in the parking lot, b/c they know they cant be held at "fault". Hopefully this helps you. Just remember he's trying to scare you into paying for it all, I wouldnt pay for all of it unless you totally backed into him while he was parked, but if he was moving and so were you, your both at fault.

Not 50/50 all the time. I was once hit in a parking lot near my house, while I was travelling and a woman came out of the side isles and hit me on the quater panel, gave me a 180 spin. The police came, did a report and it wasn't 50/50. Both car were moving at the time.

parking lots are dangerous, sounds like he hit you..but then again we all cant just take your word for it..maybe you werent looking...i would just 50/50 it and get on with life.

for some reason this guy keeps calling me telling me to just do cash payment
how he went to collision center they said we should just do cash payment, he called me alot of times just today asking to do a cash payment but he always ends the sentence how its really up to you im 25 its not gonna raise ...so i can tell hes scared of reporting it,
he also made a claim just before i overheard it so i dont think he wants to make this other claim if it isreally 50/50 im sure hes gonna get cut off, he has statefarm n i heard they are pretty bad
that thing i said was just for a civic i wanted to drive around like all of us i cant afford insurance, i mean its not like im recklessly driving just normally but legally as well.

u dont pay him he dosent pau he reports it 2 your insurance if u gave it 2 him if not just say who are u i was never there
unless its on cam and he has a witness that u know of at the scene

i had like 4 cars worth of witness was drivin there with friends, hes got 3 ppl
but like we all know, NONE of them can be any real witness basically, there were witness but their long gone.. cameras wont show.
basically it would be my words aganist his if we had to report it, like oh no he ran into me car..hell be like no he ran into me car stuff
