96km on a 50

I got a speeding ticket 96 on a 50 zone. The thing is i was going westbound and cop was going eastbound did a U turn and pulled me over. Any advice on how to attack this in court im not gonna get a lawyer they didnt help before. Can cops tell speed limits while driving? If cop didnt have me on radar can i get this dropped?

96 in a 50? WTF, wish you where going 4km/h more. I'm going to guess it was a residential area to?

funny how these stories change as soon as the hate starts.

OP, learn proper English. It helps when dealing with the man. Saying things like

"actualy (spelling) i (spelling again) dont (spelling yet again) think i (yes we know, spelling) was no where near (grammar) this speed i (wow)" it goes on

Really this kinda stuff just furthers the suspicion, that you're a idiot. Then you say driving on low gear, what? What do you mean low gear? aside from the fact that I can get up around 96 in second which is a low gear, how does that explain your speed?

Just so you know, cruisers have a radar in the front that doesn't care if the cop is moving or not, if he's pointed at you, guess what, he knows how fast you're going. True the radar may be out of calibration a bit but chances are it's close. Guys like you that have loud fart can mufflers and drive around doing near 50 over are WHY COPS GIVE THE REST OF US A HARD TIME FOR NOTHING, which is really not all that true, I do get stopped from time to time, just because I drive a civic and when I wasn't actually doing anything wrong and it usually goes something like...

Licence and registration please.... wait 10 mins while the officer lets me sweat a little and then "Have a nice day, drive safe"

Don't get me wrong I'm not innocent and I'm sure 90% of the people on here or any forum have had there share of tickets and fun with cops but after the 50 over law started, my guess is you're a kid and the cop reduced your ticket to be under 50 over to give you a chance and not have to do the paper work for impounding a car etc.

I see in your profile you drive an Si, thanks, next year when my insurance is up and they tell me it's because of all the claims against other drivers with the same car, I'll be sure to think of you.

With Dustin on this one.

Moreover, cops word vs your word, judge will take the cops word.

Though there is a lot of hate against you, but to be honest, I kind of wish you did another 4km/h more over. There is really no reason to do 100 in a 50. Learn your lesson the hard way.

Yes. I'm sure most of us have had a failure to obey the posted limit. 46 over on the 401, not right either but the road and surroundings are less of a danger. If it is a posted 50 chances are there are more people in harms way. Save the racing for the track.

Since you are probably 17, and IF, just by slight chance, are infact older, you obviously hang around people half your age because you clearly act as though you are a child. So let me say this in words you will understand. You sir, are a f*cking idiot.

You are NOT a superhero bro, believe it or not, driving at that speed, you will die and possibly kill someone else. Use some common sense, I know you probably got your license within the year and think it is cool to drive really fast and probably do burn outs out of tim horton parking lots but its not cool. Never was.

You probably think you are the worlds greatest driver too. Everyone else on the road has no idea how to drive. You have a lot of learning to do.

All it takes is for 1 kid to jump out from a parked car, or someone misjudging your speed and pulling in front of you. And I have seen it happen, more then you think. Its is literally this reason why you guys pay so much for insurance.

I really hope for your sake, even though you are a tool, this ticket gets dropped. If it doesn't, you'll probably be taking the TTC for awhile after your insurance company finds out about your ticket.

I really don't understand, I'm sure you frequent car forums, you must read people's stories about accidents, speeding tickets, police harassment, but none of you kids learn from it.

And as for your comment about how police should stop harassing kids with civics and start busting drug dealers - speeding is also breaking the law hun, thats why you get pulled over. They wouldn't harass you if you weren't driving double the speeding limit. A crack head selling a 10 sack to a 17 year old (probably one of your friends) is the least of their concern when they have to worry about people like you driving around on the streets.

wow, there is really no excuse for going anywhere near that speed. I recently moved and just infont of my street there's douchebags who run the stop sign (not slow down or cruise through it) they fly through it. I'm ready to call the cops and tell them to wait there to hand out tickets.

Agreed with ol'dusty. Cops will give you **** for being an idiot, and they will let you go if you're alright. I've been pulled over a ton of times just for them to ask me questions, and others for legit tickets.

Don't drive like an *******. You'll have a lot less issues

To answer your question, there isn't much you can do, he does have a radar and can pull you over. Take your lumps and don't be a dumbass again. I guarantee you if my kid sister was hit by an ******* driver like you, you would hope to be in jail for a long time rather than being met by me.

Zero sympathy from me either...... You're obviously an idiot, and you're lucky that you didn't kill someone driving like that.

Regardless, your insurance rates are still rising. PATHETIC !

I wish the Ontario government would regulate costs of auto insurance ! I wish we could get rate drops ever 5-7 years for a clean/responsible driving record !

Insurance isn't a scam, it's the people who scam insurance that have made it the way it is now.

Compare insurance in this province to BC, Manitoba, even the States. The rates are not even close to what we pay... people don't scam as much in other provinces/states as they do here in Ontario.
