Unhappy 5km/h speeding ticket

DVP closed so i took local to work...i went 27km/h over on avenue rd and got caught near dupont by radar

he gave me a break for just 5km/h over instead of 25km/h over and pays 27 dollars for the ticket with no points deduction

this is the first time i got caught for speeding and i have no clue if the ticket will ruin my insurance

he SAID IT WILL NOT AFFECT my insurance but i doubt it, anyone can confirm if a 5km/h ticket will not affect the insurance rate? thanks

he gave you a ticket for 5km/hr OVER?! that's generous!!! it shouldn't affect your insurance, I've heard that usually the first ticket you get is a freebie, but you might not get a discount this year on your rates when you renew.

Even 10km over will not affect your insurance, since no points are taken.

At least that's what the officer told me.

They are not out there to get you in trouble, it is merely a slap on the wrist. $27 total payable is good deal.

Insurance can check your driving record. They will see it when you renew. They might not raise it, but what insurance CAN do it say "Do you have any tickets?" You sign a paper saying "No", they check it out and then cancel your insuance for non-disclosure. Then good luck getting insurance elsewhere

it shouldn't affect your insurance... just pay the money and be done with it... if yout ake it back to court it can just as easily go back up to what you had originally done...

whoa backup people.. man lets get some stuff straight.

SOME insurance companies dont raise your rates for your ticket

the fact that its 5km/h over MAKES NO DIFFERENCE... if your company is one of the ones that does raise rates with the first ticket, then this 5km/h ticket will affect your rates...

insurance companies dont care if its 5 over or 15 over... they go by how many tickets you have on your driver abstract and NOT POINTS
