Nope. It's not just about reimbursement. It's also about ensuring that the mods haven't turned your low performance econobox Honda into a high performance race machine or worse, an unsafe death trap.
Most insurance companies require that you disclose any modifications made to the car. They want to know what the mods are so they can determine of the insurance risk associated with your car has changed. Some insurance companies will not insure modified cars at all, and give you time to either restore the car to an unmodified state or find another insurer. Some will insure you but increase your rates. Others might not change your rates, but they still want to know.
Regardless, failure to disclose modifications can result in your insurance company dropping you if they find out, or even refusing to cover you if you are in a crash.
If your insurance company drops you for failure to disclose, they will also put you on an industry blacklist. You will find it very hard to get coverage from any other insurance company. Even if you do find a company willing to take you on, you're looking at 100% surcharges for 5 or 6 years.

That's the minimum, one red light, but you were charged under 62.(3), not 62.(1). It sounds like your broken tail light lens was showing white light to the of the car and that's illegal unless your car is in reverse.
Window tints is at a cop's discretion, and there is no "measurement" device required to test tint darkness at roadside. If they can't EASILY see into a car at night through the windshield or front side windows while at a reasonable distance from the car, the tint is probably too dark.

u noe wat i was lookin at my light otday and the ONLY part of my inner driver side tail light that is broken is the reverse square, its perfectly square as if someone cut out the white plastic rectangle i should say that covers the reverse light nbulb so its not on unless im in reverse and either way its a white light,,,

good thinking, tuck tape is the way to go if you got some around. but to buy it it's like $10+ a roll, and at that price you might as well just get some used tails as a more permanent solution.
i dunno why they're giving you a hard time, you're obviously broke a fack else you wouldn't be driving a bucket. it's like you're barely keeping your head above water so here is some rocks to carry.

yup they were definatley busting my ***** because im going to trinidad on siunday and i was goin through ppaers, clearing bills, setting court dates for tickets.....and wen i called york region they said my tickets havnt even showed up in the system yet. so the lady suggested i come in to the office and fill out the forms to show that i want to appear in court just to save my own ***. if i get a letter in the mail about a court date, fine. if i dont, even better.
stupid cops with nothing to do out here in york region.
and for the record, on the ticket, the date showed january 26th 2009, at 10 40 P.M.
thats the wrong date , it actually happened on the 25th at 10:40 P.M, becuase i was with my buddy comming from my house and his birhtday was on the 26th so we were going ot his house so he can get ready and we can go out FOR the 26th. so cops are stupid again. couldnt even write the ticket properly.

Make sure to take pictures for proof that you fixed the problems. Your tickets should be thrown out.
As for the tint, the old school way was if you could see a pack of cigs or something pure white through the tint (only on the front passenger and drivers side windows) which i know that limit is 40% tint for those windows.

Well i got a ticket last year for having clear turn signals in the back. Two days later i went to set up an appointment for a court date and they said that its not in the system yet. The lady told me sometimes the officer takes up to a week to bring in the tickets. When did you go to find out it wasnt in the system?
